Guest guest
I think the only thing we can do to keep our sanity with this stuff is to eliminate in moderation and see what/what doesn't work for us. My allergist told me *all* teas (my fav drink) are loaded with mold. I'm going to include enough of the bad stuff to keep me sane and then add something extra to help eliminate the metal (selenium) and the mold (garlic). Here's hoping I can keep some kind of balance ... Karal

I have some fake chocolate that is really pretty good, and I can make myself happy with that, but..... it is sweetened with sorbitol, and supposedly that is a no no. Saute spinach and sundried tomatoes in olive oil with garlic and add some toasted pine nuts at the end. Butter or olive oil (or a mix of the two) with fresh rosemary, thyme, dill or tarragon is great on steamed (asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower) or boiled (carrots, turnips, radishes) veggies over non-wheat grains (rice, millet, quinoa). Yeah, I've read LOTS of different theories about what we can and cannot eat. SOme say wheat is OK unless you are allergic, some say keep your carbs under 50 Gm per day and leave out sugar, some say yeast and fermented things are fine (since yeast doesn't feed off yeast), some say dairy is OK in moderation, some say no artificial sweeteners while others say Sweet and Low is OK, some say no stevia while others say OK to that. I know that I did this for about 2 mos, and didn't totally eliminate wheat, fruit or dairy. Then I quit taking my herb supplements and a month or so later I was sick as a dog! Maybe I will jsut do the same diet for LONGER, and not try to be stricter with it. I am just so pre-depressed, thinking of a life with nothing but meat and winter veggies. If I can jsut survive til summer again, maybe THEN I can do the strict one. MUCH better veggies in the summer! Lyn

It is NOT done by RAST skin prick testing. The test can really help tell you what foods you are sensitive to. Trial and error works, too, but it is very difficult when you already have candida symptoms and you are tring different supplements and rotating antifungals. I have not found a dr to test me yet, so I have eliminated many of the staples of my vegan diet. I have lost 10 lbs. Also the skin prick testing is not as sensitive and it can't show the type of antibodies created, I think. A lot of food sensitivities take a day or more to manifest themselves. Before I eliminated a lot of foods, I had bad arthitis symptoms. I haven't identified the culprit, but I feel MUCH better on the anti-yeast diet. hY~Y~Y~Y~Yg Tracey hY~Y~Y~Y~Yg

Guest guest
Oh Goddess! I think that is going a bit overboard. i have been in the diet for 3 weeks and i eat any meat or seafood I want. It is the only reward on this diet as far as i am concerned. I have been eating all manner of meats, steamed veggies with lots of butter and garlic and eggs. Fo me the problem isnt the food so much as the PREPARATION of all the food. I dont mind just eating meat, eggs & veggies, but it does suck to have to bring all your food with you wherever you go. On tues & Thurs i work 2 jobs so when i leave the house at 7:00 am , i have to bring all 3 meals with me. This can be a huge pain. It seems that i dont have time to do anything but cook my dinner, then cook b-fast & lunch for the next day as well. So far i have lost 20 pounds so i guess that is a bonus. The holidays will be very hard- maybe it would be a good time to start some new food " traditions " at the holidays. For example- instead of turkey & stuffing- maybe you could change dinner to Surf & Turf with green beans almondine, butternut squash and lemon garlic spinach. Or just go out for dinner instead of cooking tempting things at home. That way Hubby & kids can have what they want & you could still stick to the diet. Also- my Chrio told me to take Biotin every day basically for the rest of my life. Biotin apparently prevents the yeast from attaching to our intestines which in turn prevents them from multiplying. Good Luck. Reggi > > >--- Reggi <lunarastro@...> wrote: > > Why no shell fish or meat? Reggi > >******HI Reggi, >Apparently shell fish are bottom dwellers and suck in >waste which is not good for us.
