Guest guest Posted April 23, 2001 Report Share Posted April 23, 2001 .....<sigh>.... as a former athlete and very competitive person I 'relate' to what you said... but it has been a number of years since I have done any real true exercise. I used to travel to tournaments for racquetball weekly and also teach aerobics... ALL gone. (8 years ago now) But what I will say is... on my way 'smaller' level of exercise... when I am going through 'die-off' - it is extremely difficult to even walk up a hill... everything just feels so incredibly sore... and 'weak'... So ... you're probably doing a great thing - and helping your die-off, etc... and will be back on track being 'normal' after you get through it... you 'go' girl... wendy Exercise? Well, ever since I started this diet I have gotten back into exercising. I get a lot of exercise from my job, enough to exaust me (lots of HEAVY lifting), but not enough apparently! I have been doing weight-training and stair-climbing type stuff mostly, until yesterday when I dusted of my old tae-bo tapes. YIKES!! I had die-off worse than ever before, and my sinus throbbed all day causing an all-day headache, which still hurts today. My back was killing me (as it always does with die-off, not sure why), and I just wanted to curl up in a ball and sleep. And to think, I used to feel so great after those tapes!! It seems like the more excersice I do, the worse I feel. I heard that yeast can't survive in an oxygen environment, so is the aerobic exercise killing them? I know that most weight-training is anaerobic, so maybe that's why I don't feel as bad when I do that? I only have to walk down to s school, 2 blocks down the road, and I feel awful. This is due mostly to my hip and back degeneration, not die-off. <grin>. I can see why you and I would be deficient what, with all the extra detrius floating in our respective bloodstreams! Apparently the buffered sort is much more effective. Guest guest Posted May 4, 2010 Report Share Posted May 4, 2010 I can't say that I've found a specific method to be better or worse, but I'm certainly less achy when I exercise regularly. For me, building my core muscles and stretching, especially hamstring stretches, are really important. I actually paid the physical therapist I worked with after my revision to come to my house and help me develop an at-home routine. Of course, I've noticed, and Dr. Glazer has confirmed, the thinner I am, the more pain I get from one spot where the lack of fat means a screw rubs directly against my muscle.
