Guest guest
Wow Esther.. it makes me feel kinda humble when i hear stories such as yours.. It makes my problems seem so trivial.. it must be great to be able to communicate with people via the net like this and be able to talk to people from all over the world.. You and you Mom sound like quite a team.. I hope I can get to know you both just a little better.. I am at present having problems with predlisone.. I hate the stuff.. My problem is like possibly you, I have been taking meds for so long i have tummy troubles. Do you by chance know of anything better and less dangerous than predlisone..??? So far I have been lucky in as much as no joint replacements as yet but that is only because i won't let them do it yet.. It has been suggested several times but I am hanging out as long as I can... Take care Esther and thank you so much for your reply... Take care Mom... Guest guest
Welcome Graham. I'm glad you found us, and hope we can help with your medication problems. May I ask what you are taking and what kind of problems you are having? I can research any meds and hopefully help you find answers. I don't have lupus, I have RA and fibromyalgia (FM). Many meds are the same for Lupus and RA. I currently am on Enbrel, which has helped with the inflammation, but hasn't stopped the progression. I am grateful that it has relieved a lot of pain. a ----- Original Message ----- From: Graham <pacifier@...> < egroups> Sent: Tuesday, August 08, 2000 6:02 PM Subject: [ ] LUPUS.. > Hello.. Guest guest
Hi Graham, I know what you mean about the Prednisone. When I was first diagnoised with Juvernile Rheumatoid Arthritis, Still's Disease, at age 8, Prednisone was the only drug that made a difference. They had me on drugs that weren't yet even approved for adults back then. I took Prednisone every other day....... they told Mom it was safer that way..........for 5 years. Mom seems to think that the Prednisone caused the joint deterioration but we will never really know for sure. One thing is for sure.......on the day that I took the Prednisone I felt 100% better than the day I was off it.......Mom said that I was a Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde LOL. My Rheumy always had me take a drug such as Zantac along with the arthritis drugs to prevent any stomach problems and I have never had any. ~ Esther & Carol ~ ----- Original Message ----- From: Graham Mansfield <pacifier@...> < egroups> Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2000 1:01 AM Subject: Re: [ ] LUPUS.. > Wow Esther.. it makes me feel kinda humble when i hear stories such as > yours..
