Guest guest
Thanks . I do need more water, as I haven't really had as much in a while. But I didn't mean that I only drink sodas. On average, I do drink about 1/2 gallon a day. My sugar is high, so I'm thirsty all the time, and I normally drink water for the thirst. But, I still have at least 2-3 sodas a day, which is too much. I will try to do what you suggested though about drinking lots of water for 10 days. I think I will cut out the sodas completely for those 10 days and look for the difference. Only, I know I will get headaches from the caffeine withdrawal, but I will make it! Thanks for your comments, I really do appreciate them. Have a FANTABULOUS day!!! Guest guest
Sherrie Please take heart that most of us have given up stuff we LOVED. As most people know I went cold turkey on strong tea, a habit of 30 years, sugar, chocolate - I was on six bars a day in the end - alcohol, junk food, Mcs, pasta. bread, white flour, Coke - to which I was addicted - sweet and sour pork and chicken korma (used to eat out chinese and indian three or four times a week) and many other things. I just stopped, and everyone around me is completely amazed. I am the last person they ever imagined would do it. Most if not all of us on the list are in the same boat. Not one person on this list would say that the sacrfifice was not worth it, in terms of good health. I myself will never go back to my old bad ways, because I feel so well. In fact I am going to go even further and give up meat. Now I realise that it is possible for ones eating habits to be dominated by health considerations and not by a small area of the tongue containing the taste buds, the sky is the limit. And the funny thing about it is that everyghing tastes delicious now. Sugar dulls the taste buds! Even milk tastes sweet now, and all salads and vegetables, which I used to consider a load of tasteless filler and mere meat accompaniment, taste so wonderful on their own I can hardly beleive that just a few weeks ago every single thin I ate was swimming in mayo, tomoto ketchup, salad creams, sauces, gravies etc. My ow parents cannot get over this one! Guest guest
I'm a terrible candidate for water or any liquids for that much. I never drink enough. Guest guest
I too hate water. I've been trying to force myself to drink more of it. I find that putting lemon juice and a tiny bit of maple syrup tastes like lemonade and it's more bearable. It may be worth a try. ~ In a message dated 8/4/00 12:58:43 PM Central Daylight Time, lynga1@... writes: << , you are a girl after my own heart!!! Like you, I rarely drink anything. I may have a cup of coffee in the AM, and then one other thing to drink the rest of the day. Usually something like unsweetened tea with Sweet & Low, or maybe one of those Crystal Lite drinks, but never a sugary drink or soda. I absolutely HATE water.... can't think of anything worse.... I'd just as soon drink lye! (altho I *DO* have to admit that bottled water tastes better than tap water). It's not really the taste (or lack of) that keeps me from drinking it..... not sure why I hate it. >>

Guest guest
Juice is a liquid that has some water in it; but is not meant to replace water. You really need a lot of plain water to clean your system. It is ok to count juice as some of the liquid that you drink. Water is absolutely necessary for good health. Try doing some research on the net. Peace and Joy, Gloria Re: More Water In a message dated 08/05/2000 2:54:37 PM Eastern Daylight Time, AnglGodes1@... writes: << I too hate water. Guest guest
Sometimes when I drink water, for some odd reason, it tastes like milk. Hey that's a good tip - lemon juice (do you mean fresh lemon or the juice one can buy at the grocery store) and maple syrup. I'll let you know what I think of it. Guest guest
Oh Sorry to hear that your bud also has Cancer. May I ask what type of cancer he has? That is terrible. I hope that he will continue to fight the disease and get into remission.
