Pearl & Jonah,

I started getting rosacea at about age 20 but didn't know it. My chin

would get red whenever I ate chocolate....but did it stop me? No. That

was about the only symptom I had until 2 years ago, when I went off The

Pill after over 20 years. All of a sudden, my cheeks and chin were getting

flushed ......anyway, that's when I was diagnosed. It's partly why I think

it may be hormonal as well as hereditary.

The best thing I've found for it are some salt-based disks I found on the

internet by doing a search for rosacea. They're made by Boney and

Bass/Bass and Boney. The worst thing about them is having your face look

dry during the day - that's nothing. I think they were $50 for 2 (one for

night - more powerful, and one for day) and they last forever. You just

smooth them over your wet face after washing it with a mild soap like

Cetaphyl and let your skin air dry. The night time one stings a little at

first but you get used to it. I quit using them after my face got better

but now I need to get back to it. My new dermatologist gave me samples and

an Rx for something but it doesn't do anything for me. He also gave me an

Rx for a topical antibiotic but I don't even want to touch that. I really

think this is an internal thing and I'm not taking the chance of feeding

the critters.

:) Annette

Hi ,

I have been using ProActiv for acne for about 6 years. I don't

really have acne but I did break out once or twice a month most of

my life. The problem always was that the eruption would not go away

by itself. Apparently I have some tough skin! Anyway, when I started

drinking KT I also started using the culture cream on my face and I

cancelled the ProActiv. This has been about 3 or 4 months and I

haven't had a problem. If I feel an eruption coming on I soak it

with the culture and it goes away immediately.
