Guest guest
How do I add thyroid? I don't know what to add? I have stopped the Remefin, as it produced too many Estrogen dominant symptoms. I am deciding on Progesterone cream again, but I am very cautious, as this seemed to set me off on a hormonal imbalance trip. I would only try one of the ones recommended by Dr Lee. Which I can get here. Have you guys heard of Armour granules for the thyroid? You don't seem to be able to get them here, but does anyone know if any natural things actually work for the thyroid? I have heard that it really has to be animals glands or something. Sounds horrid. chest pains > > > > > > > > Hi everyone > > > > > > > > I know that we have talked about heart palpitations, but does anyone > get > > > > chest pain? Guest guest
, I really do know what you are saying. It's been a very looonngg wait for something positive to happen with me. On another list Excellent Things with e-groups a member posted information about what you can buy at GNC for thyroid gland support. You could try this yourself. I have been given a prescription so I do not know of the comparisons. I will check out the information that was listed and get back to this list with the post. It is so good to know there are ways around stubborn doctors. :} Do you know what? Yesterday I had my follow up with my doctor to see how things went with me and my new meds. He was really glad to hear about all the positive changes (to almost normal) I have received. Do you know he told me that he was at a point that he ran out of things to do for me, and he hated telling me this. (!!!!!!!) I told him at this point if he couldn't crack through something I really couldn't bear to walk into another doctors office. I am at a point of no return. What was really nice about this doctor is he attends medical conventions. And they pose questions about their patients to find some other solutions. He told me that besides me, there is another patient that has similar symptoms as mine. And he put her on thyroid as well a hormonal therapy. AND, he said that studies show that women with hormonal imbalances usually has low thyroid, it comes along with the imbalance. BINGO! It seems you can be helped this way also. Aren't you the one taking something to boost your estrogen up? We are hormonally opposites. Well, now add thyroid. And I'll get back again. Guest guest
, It is Armourd that the doctor has me on. And it does come from the glands of pigs. It's as close to natural as you can get, but I get it with prescription. I am sure there is some way to get ahold of it. He has me on 30 mg. A very low dose, even the druggist didn't stock this milligram, they had to order it. I take 1 tablet in the morning before I eat breakfast or anything else. I wanted to say a few things about the hormonal creams. I read Dr. Lee's book, but there are more ways to use this cream than he describes. I learned allot from my doctors suggestion on do this, ok, try that. First I want to make aware of the different types of creams out there. You may already know this but others may not know. I have been in GNC looking at their progesterone creams one day. I noticed many of the creams have estrogen plant stimulators in there as well. This type of cream MAY be good for those in menopause, but not for me. I have to dodge soy to keep estrogen far away from me. So I certainly cannot take estrogen in the progesterone cream! Also Dr. Lee mentions that many women in menopause retain estrogen stored in their fat cells and we really need to add only progesterone. The trick is learning what you need and if you need to avoid the other hormone. I am using Pro-gest, made by Emerita and it is put out by Transition for Health. This is all progesterone cream. Also in the back of Dr. Lee's book he has a list of companies that sell creams that have just the progesterone in it. No mixing the hormonal ingredients. So if you are not sure if the cream you are using is all progesterone, do a search on all the listed ingredients. For example if the cream has Black Cohosh in it, run, this stimulates estrogen. Now as for the different ways for to use this cream. Many ways are noted in the book, however I learned more. First we did the traditional 1/4 tsp in morning and evening 1 week after my period ended, PMS days increase to 1/2 tsp. I found this starting to work but in the middle of my day I began having more symptoms and took the cream to work with me to rub another 1/4 tsp. on. Doctor realized I needed more so he said to keep doing it. 1 year later, with more problems, I was told to take this same dosage but extend the cream into the 3 days of my bleeding. That helped just a little. He was hoping that this would reduce my heavy flow. 6 months after that I returned to him complaining that I had taken this cream throughout my whole bleeding cycle and felt better. He thought good. I then started getting hormonal bone pain. He thought to put me on the 100 mg of Prometrium which is stronger natural stuff. I am to take one pill every evening as well as the cream. Also, if I feel the need I can increase the tablet to 2 an evening but only at day 12. Counting the first day of my bleeding, on. And I was to stop taking 2 when I began bleeding at my next period. This sure reduced my water weight gain and and heavy bleeding. Also I was able to toss Evening of Primrose Oil to the side since this stimulates estrogen production. It was helping me not gain water so much but now I don't need it and am glad. This can get really crazy if you think of it. , You were doing well on an estrogen stimulator, but then your estrogen picked up by itself heading for your first day of bleeding. I am thinking that you should go back and try that stuff you were on, except those few days before your period (you complained that you felt worse) stop taking that stimulator and begin taking the progesterone cream. Maybe you only need to balance your progesterone on the few days before your period but you need the estrogen all other days of your cycle. I hope I didn't talk you dead. Guest guest
Liz Thanks for all that. The cream I am about to try is Progest. You really have me thinking now - The first lot of Progesterone cream was from a company who I cannot remember - but the cream was Wild yam cream with Vitamin E. It made my hormones go berserko, started giving me sore breasts, vulvul swelling, but seemed to lessen the severity of my PMS and periods. Thought I would try one on prescription that was made with the same amounts as Doctor Lee recommended, and this was worse. I am now suspicious of this one. My friend who uses Pro-Gest ran out, so I gave her this cream (the one on script) and she went down hill fast. She tried another one which was cheaper, but was also on the list of Dr lees, and that was no good. Went back onto Pro-gest, and back in business again. Seems Pro-Gest is a goodie. It is $75 NZ to buy here. This is why I am hesitant. About the Remefemin. What it did do was increase my energy levels, and seems to get rid of my headaches (which are usually tiredness related and hormonal related) i.e. get tired before period is due, then get headaches. Also adrenals burnt out with stress too probably). It INCREASED my breast tenderness (now 2 weeks of soreness) and wasn't helping with my Endo,. All in all, I don't think it was that good in hindsight. I just enjoyed feeling better energy wise. What concerns me is the increasing need you seem to have for Progesterone. Is this normal? Seems a big amount. Do we require more as we get older? Does it lose it's effectivess? Looking forward to hearing back. Perhaps we should go off list, as I am sure I will have more questions to your answers. nwgrant@... Thanks Liz chest pains > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone > > > > > > > > > > > > I know that we have talked about heart palpitations, but does > anyone > > > get > > > > > > chest pain? Guest guest
Liz - would sure like to know about this book on PH and enzymes... do you have the title/author off hand? wendy Re: chest pains/imbalance , I wouldn't think on talking about this off list because I noticed a big DECREASE in my candida symptoms since getting my hormones more balanced. This is the big culprit here when you have this overgrowth it flourishes on hormones. Thats why that information that was discussed about the adrenal glands are so important too. Also when our hormones are out of wack it seems to indicate our pH is also. I read something about enzymes and pH I will try to post later. Its really a great book. For Gods Sakes $75.00 for Pro-gest!!! I am in the US, and my health food store will have a sale now and then for $20.00 a tube. Also you can order it directly from Transitions for Health's website. They run a discount on buying a quantity of 6 tubes or more. I will be doing that soon since I am not using 1 tube a month. Since you have a friend that takes this also, you can order a large quantaty and split the cost for shipping. http://www.emerita.com This is what was on the tube. I want everyone to know that Wild Yam is not the same as natural progesterone. It is beneficial for something but I forget what. However, in order for the lab to develop natural progesterone they do use the product Wild Yam and this is then transformed in the lab. Many people are under the impression that using the Wild Yam will produce progesterone in the body, but NO! That is probably the other reason things did not go well when you tried it. I have to say that I am really thankful that my doctor INSISTED I used Pro-gest from Emerita. I am sure you can order online but if you would like me to buy and then send to you, we could work it out. Geesh! Sore breasts are a definite sign of high estrogen. Let me tell you something. I have always been a small breasted person, and after having 2 kids and breast feeding one, I was left with half of what I started out with. I started taking this cream and this one cycle I got an unusual feeling between my shoulder blades. I wondered if it needed hormones in that spot so I rubbed the cream there. In an hour I started feeling my breast getting fuller and I felt fluid fill the nipple area also. Sooooo, everyday I rubbed the cream there and I have now full breasts that actually fill my bra. Now that I am taking the tablets at night I have no fluctuation in my breast at all, and only mild breast soreness before my period. But I get to experiment my upping my evening capsules this next time around. Great news! About me and the need one time for estrogen. I think I posted this once before but I noticed when I was in my 20's that when my period ended I got a jittery feeling. And I found on a talk show that this was a need for estrogen. Not getting any help from doctors I began looking into herbs and licorice root supplies this. I took it during those days and for only a couple of months and it corrected itself. Don't overlook for anytime in your cycle that you may benefit from an estrogen adjustment as well. Do I have an increasing need for the progesterone? I don't think so . I never had a hormonal test to see just how low the level was to begin with=

I never had a hormonal test to see just how low the level was to begin with. My doctor was playing things by ear the first 2 years. However " this " year there have been a dramatic nosedive and the cream wasn't enough. Thats when he ran a blood test to see how out of range it is. He does believe I will stop menstruating before I hit 50. But as you get older, you need more. After menopause you may have to supplement both estrogen and progesterone. I am not looking forward to hot flashes. I'm 42. And you know, 100 mg tablets isn't very much. I was looking in the back of a book that listed creams in the 2,000 range, so relax. This book said that we should have 10 times more progesterone than estrogen! Guest guest
I didn't quite word things right, never do. But the book is called " the Enzyme Cure " how plant enzymes can help you relieve 36 health problems. BY: Lee, Ph.D., & with Burton Goldberg Alternative Medicine/Health Future Medicine Publishing Inc. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=books & field-author =Goldberg%2C%20Burton/102-8635107-2686560 This is the web page to Amazon and it lists many of the books this man put out. I have 4 books but you don't have to order online, I got mine at the bookstore. So you can too, but this page has many titles. What I have been reading is that If you don't have the proper enzymes then it throws your PH out of wack. This book is not about pH itself. It also posted information about a slow thyroid leads to low progesterone. Also, if you suffer a disorder like candia then also that produces low thyroid which lead to this whole disaster, I don't feel well and don't know why! I have only read 1/4 of the book, after work, and I am impressed. Also most enzyme formulas you cannot get unless you have a doctors help. They have a phone number where you can order some of the enzymes in the book. There is also a section of enzymes only a doctor can supply. However they give a phone number so you can find an enzyme practitioner in your area. It was noted that some chiropractors do this. Finding out what enzymes you need involves a 24 hour urine collection in which they analyses. I definitely want to check this out because in the beginning of the book it said this: " A food intolerance refers to a food that your body can't digest, which therefore produces adverse effects, ranging from bloating and gas to many other allergic symptoms, such as rashes, hives, nausea, headaches, diarrhea, or CONSTIPATION. In short whatever you cannot digest becomes a poison in your body. You may experience food intolerances in a mild form--you can eat small amounts or the offending food, but if you consume large quantities, the digestive capacity of your body is overwhelmed. " You noticed I capitalized constipation. Maybe there is a way out. And there was mention that if you had cancer, women, you should rub progesterone cream on the tumor. They know that high estrogen is accountable for many cancers and keeping you estrogen in the low area. Progesterone is called the anti-tumor hormone. (!!!!!) Also, there is such a thing as sugar intolerance. It means if you dont have the enzymes to digest sugar and starch like breads, then you can suffer many physical or mental symptoms. I wonder if that is why my urine burns if I eat sugar, it's not being digested. You will probably buy the book and have it read before I do, I haven't much time for myself. Hope this helps but is not near as much information as you all should have. For a little book it has soooo much in it.
