Guest guest
Hi There Happycat & Littlebear, I'm sorry but I don't really know the medical answer to your question but, my Doctor has me on an Anti-Yeast regimen which includes an Anti-Depressant, Nilstat & Sponderex to kill the yeast, plus Psyllium. He is a Candidiasis Specialist and therefore I presume he is quite happy with that combination of meds. Is the " Celexa " you are on actually an Antidepressant ? - I'm supposing that it is. Anyway, your Doctor is the best one to go to for reassurance. All the best. God Bless, Mitzi's Mum (NZ ))) depression & yeast meds Hi all, I have been taking " celexa " as a med for depression and anxiety. It has been tremendous for me and I am a new person. I have a great doctor! I know that yeast and depression have a link and I'm not asking about that right now. I want to continue taking the celexa for now (I'm getting that opinion out of the way before my question). My question is this... does a bentonite, psyllium, caproil regimine interfere at all with a medication like celexa? Before I start this I'll ask my doctor but I'm wondering if any of you know about this. I've seen a kit called " yeast busters " in a local store (canada) and I'm wondering if I should try it. Thanks for your help! -Heath

Guest guest
it's not one size fits all... celexa made me suicidal..... haven't found one I can handle yet... so I suffer in silence. No one wants to know that you're in pain, of any kind. Re: CELEXA? > > Is the " Celexa " you are on actually an Antidepressant ? - I'm supposing that it is. Guest guest
I agree, it's not one size fits all. I got lucky and I know it. -Heath > it's not one size fits all... celexa made me suicidal..... haven't found one I can handle yet... so I suffer in silence. Guest guest
Hello Charisse: I have not taken celexa but Lex is Very similar (1/2 of the celexa molecule leaving the inert substances behind.) I took Lexapro for about 8 months. From my own experiences and alot of folks here, some side effects are " normal " when beginning the med. The sides you are describing are common side effects of SSRI's for some people. They should subside within a few weeks but we all react differently. Increased levels of Seratonin (which is the effect of the SSRI's) can cause the symptoms you describe until your body gets 'aquainted " with the changes. Speak with your Doc and give it some time, uncomfortable as you may be. Usually these sides go away as you progress. Sounds as though you are quite sensitive to these meds but your Doc is the best judge. Mg for Mg, lex is stronger than Celexa (more concentrated) so maybe this is why your doc choose celexa instead of lex....ask him! Jeff > I know this is a Lexapro list but none of the Celexa lists are active. > I was given Celexa to try this past weekend. Guest guest
That is a catch 22 situation.....If you do not relate to your psychiatrist, then might I suggest you try another one. I had been seeing my own for about 5 years monthly and he was also set against my stopping SSRI treatments. I spoke with my regular doctor and she had a very different opinion. I spend the $$ so I get to make the choice in Docs....as do you! Regards Jeff > Thanks Jeff. Unfortunately I didn't much care for my psychiatrist. > So I haven't decided if I'll even be going back to him. As for the > side effects -I'm having a really hard time dealing with them.
