Guest guest
(snip) However, she did comment on how that strict diet for 3 years had a negative effect on her gallbladder, liver, kidneys etc. This is something that concerns me greatly. I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding high protein/low carb diets and their long- term effects. Being hypoglycemic, I feel much better on this type of diet, but am certainly concerned with its possible consequences. Has anyone followed this diet for a long term (years) without bad concequences to their liver/kidneys? If you found a good balance of carbs/proteins, could you please post here? Besides candida, I also have seb. derm and rosacea, both of which have been connected to candida. I already do not eat sugar, bread (tried one slice of spelt yesterday and almost fell asleep), starchy veggies and milk. Thank you. Guest guest
Hi Lana- I also have a candida problem, and have been low-carbing for over 3 years now. I wanted to say that I recently purchased the spelt bread, and it's pretty high in carbs, and it caused cravings, big time, plus put me into a " carb coma " (aka I couldn't keep my eyes open). I am at my goal weight, but I will always have to count carbs in order to maintain. I was very strict low-carbing the entire time I was losing, which was over 2 years. I've only been doing the anti- candida diet for about 6 months or so. I feel so much better. If I've had a yeast problem all along, then it makes sense that eating low-carb would work for me! I have never had any problems associated with eating low-carb. Here is my website: http://www.lowcarbloser.homestead.com Also, if you'd like to talk more, feel free to post on my MSN Atkins site: http://groups.msn.com/AtkinsHouse/general.msnw
