Hi, I just joined this group today. I have Candida and have very

slowly.....been getting it under control but it's still alive and

well. My diet is completely sugar free but I still binge on carbs

sometimes. I still obviously have candida. I'm 27. Spent a good

deal of my childhood on prednisone(steroids) for asthma and several

years of antibitic therapy for what doctors thought were urinary

tract infections but I discovered I had had interstitial cystitis. I

have healed myself of that. Grew up as a sugar addict. Was one

until about 4 years ago. Still binge on potato chips - can't seem to

kick that bad habit, despite all the healthy raw food I eat.

The main reason I joined this list is because I think my son may have

Candida as well. He's 3 1/2. The past few months he's had really

bad breath (he never used to). Also, he has LOTS of sugar cravings.

At first, I scoffed it off as every kid wants sugar but I don't want

my kid growing up with a candida infection.

He doesn't eat any refined sugar but plenty of applesauce, raisins,

fig newtons, etc. I don't buy juice or soymilk so he doesn't get

THAT kind of sugar.

So, I'd like to get him on a probiotic but one that I know will

work. I've heard in the past that Primal Defense is pretty good.

Question is, Can it be safe for a child that young?

What would anyone recommend for helping my son control the candida

and also getting rid of the cause of his bad breath?

Thank you so much,

Joyce Kehoe
