Guest guest
Alistar: Whole wheat is not necessarily bad for everyone on a yeast diet. If you can say for sure that it doesn't bother you, it would be acceptable - if it's yeast-free. The reason wheat is considered a no-no is because it is a highly allergenic food. If you're going to be allergic to something, wheat is high on the list. Wheat seems to irritate a lot of people with candida because of the gluten. I do allow it, however, once a week or so. Everyone's different, and unfortunately no one can tell you what will work for you. Also, considering the fact that your symptoms have only been occurring for 10 months, yes, you probably will heal faster, provided you stick to the diet and antifungals. However, you probably did have some yeast overgrowth even before you became symptomatic. I have read, however, that people under 20 years old tend to respond much quicker to treatment. Probably because your bodies are still young and relatively good at repairing themselves if given a chance.
