Guest guest
You need to find out if you lack hydrochloric Acid in your stomach,. or if you have too much of it. You can test for this. You could try taking digestive enzymes before meals. Also, a glass of cider vinegar half hour before food helps digestion and this problem in some people. Hope this helps. There is natural things you can do instead of drugs. Allergies and heartburn > > Has anyone else here had problems with heartburn? I > get it no matter WHAT I eat, it drives me crazy. Do these allergies ever >subside, or are they life long?? An IgE response to foods is a classic allergy, which is a permanent allergy to a particular food. In a strong reaction, you will have immediate evidence, such as asthma or hives. Milder IgE reactions might give you headaches or foggy thinking. Avoiding the food item will allow your antibodies to that food to drop significantly within a short period of time, but shoot right back up when the food is reintroduced, making it necessary to avoid the food for life. Delayed allergies, which is an IgG response, may come and go in cycles. IgG allergies usually result from eating too much of something too frequently, and you will get delayed symptoms, such as joint pain, muscle pain, chronic headaches, and fatigue. These may be hard to pinpoint, because the reaction can occur hours or days after eating a particular food, and the reactions can be subtle or severe, AND lead to chronic, degenerative conditions. The good thing about delayed food allergies is that if the food item is avoided for a period of 3 to 9 months, the antibody level to the food may decrease to the point that they can be tolerated in small amounts, and so won't have to be avoided for life. (This is my chocolate allergy, so I have hope....) Patty
Guest guest
I was allergic to chocolate and carob for YEARS....from the time I was a toddler until about 10 years ago..I am later 30's UGH. Anyway...a pack of small m & m's or a small chocolate bar would have me sick like a horrid cold for a month. Now I can eat pretty much all the chocolate I want. Now for the carob...I haven't kept at it like the chocolate..and that makes me get very congested. My allergy to laundry soap has not lessened though. Guest guest
I suggest a diff proportion of foods: 70% alkaline, 30% acid. I haven't had ANY heartburn since I altered my diet. Period. Maybe try avoiding nightshades, too: tomatoes paprika peppers (except black): hot, bell, etc eggplant.. hope this helps, Jonah http://www.permacult.com.au/probiotics/acid-alkaline-food.html Me You wrote: > Has anyone else here had problems with heartburn? Guest guest
then again, I have heard where instead of growing out of the allergy it has taken a different form of attack. Like before maybe a rash, later on asthma. Or before, heartburn, later itching. These are examples only. Anyone else heard of this? Guest guest
Hi My son had a severe egg allergy which the allergist told us he would probably outgrow by around 3 yrs. This did indeed happen, but I programmed him so well not to eat them, that now he can, he won't!. He has eaten them in food with no obvious reaction. I will ask the guy I am seeing about allergies and intolerances next week. Ummm, you have given me something to ponder. Guest guest
on the heartburn issue - a big help for you would be to mix up some slippery elm all day long. It will take that burning away. You need to get some in bulk so that you can mix it with juice and make a " pudding " out of it and then eat it.... it does wonders... doesn't matter how many times you use it all day either. (Pills won't work the same) wendy Allergies and heartburn Has anyone else here had problems with heartburn? I get it no matter WHAT I eat, it drives me crazy. I get it in the morning after breakfast and have it all day long. My nutrition teacher told me it can be due to an imbalance in the PH of the intestine, or parasites. Is there any natural heartburn cures? I am trying to stay away from antacids like maalox, since they are packed with sweeteners. Also, is it true that you can " grow out of " an allergy? I had an extensive test done when I was about 6 or 7, which revealed numerous allergies...wheat, soy, dairy, chocolate, most nuts, and about every other food on earth (no kidding, the list was over 3 pages long!!) Guest guest
slippery elm bark is actually very 'nothing' tasting (as my youngest daughter says!). My kids are now in their teens but all three of them literally *grew up* on slippery elm. They didn't like it much with water - but with apple juice they always called it 'pudding'. It really does wonders for the digestive system ... a place we've been using to buy all our herbs bulk for about 12 years now is San Francisco Herb co. - they do have a web addy at : www.sfherb.com hope this is helpful wendy Re: Allergies and heartburn How does this taste ? Many times the problem is in just trying to get this stuff down.... Where do you get in in bulk? (Any internet addresses?) Thanks, Patty Re: Allergies and heartburn on the heartburn issue - a big help for you would be to mix up some slippery elm all day long. It will take that burning away. Guest guest
they will work... but it will not be the same as taking it in the form i've described. For months I was very sick with some food allergies and hypoglycemia some time ago - NOTHING else worked but taking the slippery elm mixed in juice - sometimes I would take a couple cups' worth at a time... it feels good in the stomach and there is no 'acidy' feeling or bad taste. It kept me through many a night.... spirulina is the other thing that keeps me through nights - I NO longer get any 'food headaches' at all. wendy Allergies and heartburn > > Has anyone else here had problems with heartburn? Guest guest
only a tsp???? good grief!! we've sometimes eaten 'cups' in a day! I'll usually take about 4-5 tbsp. in some juice and stir it until it starts to thicken... then eat it up ... there are NO side effects, you can eat as much as you want - its GOOD for you... like I said, our kids grew up eating it every day wendy Allergies and heartburn > > > > Has anyone else here had problems with heartburn? Guest guest
Thanks for the info, ! I have been only taking a pinch of it in warm water per night until now. How much do you consume at a time? A teaspoonful? Tell! Tell all! Guest guest
, The book I got my suggested does from recommended 1/4 TEAspoon per night. I thought it might cause an adverse reaction or something! I was just reading about LGS tonight, it said that our intestinal linings are replaced every 14 hours. If that's accurate it certainly indicated the importance our bodies place an orderly working system. I think I might up my dosage a 'teensy' bit Does it cost you a fortune where you live? Guest guest
I thought that vinegar was not good if you have candidas? Is there something I don't know...please respond...because maybe this means I can have some salad dressings...thanks a lot
Guest guest
If you are just starting on the diet I would avoid all kinds of vinegar. But my system has settled down with many foods I can eat now. So if you can tolerate any kind of vinegar, then apple cider vinegar is the one to use. It has minerals in it.
