So glad to hear that you weren't hurt in the accident. Yes, God was

protecting you for some reason. About 15 years ago I was driving to

work in the rain and spilled some coffee. I reached down to get it and

went off the road. There was a lot of mud there and the car stopped

with the left side of the car a couple of feet higher than the right

side. I

climbed out and was able to get a wrecker there to get the car rather

quickly. The car looked like it might be damaged really badly...but,

when they washed all the mud off of the car, there wasn't a single

scratch on the car and I wasn't hurt either.

I've had many, many times that my angels were looking out for me...so,

I do understand how you feel.

ARNICA!!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER leave home without it!

I'm so sorry to hear this…what a worry for you. I'm glad they're all

okay. But GET SOME ARNICA!!!

Okay…now that I read further, you've already given them Arnica. Give

them more! And a little Rescue Remedy for yourself, too.

I've given them Rescue Remedy and Arnica... and told them to take a

B-Complex and Magnesium at dinner time. Any other suggestions?

Jan, I’m just assuming they were

checked out at the scene or afterwards by emergency personnel. DD sounds like

she was in a shocky state and just needs her mama, warm blankets, and close

observation. Usually you don’t start really hurting from these accidents

till one to two days later. Lots of rest and TLC as needed, that includes you

for such a scare. I’d rather not suggest anything more till you know

where they are going to hurt and how much.

Car accident

Hi all~

Three of my kids (DS 22, DD 17, and DS

15) were in a car crash this afternoon. It was the other guy's fault, and

everyone is ok (besides DS's car ;-)). I'm taking them to my chiro on Wednesday

(no more time today, and chiro isn't in the office on Tuesdays), but in the

meantime I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas for herbal helps

for them...

DS 15 is sore~ he hit the dashboard with

his knee and the side of his head has a sore spot (even though he doesn't

remember hitting his head on anything). DD 17 is extremely emotional and still

crying a little 2 hrs later. She says nothing hurts right now. DS 22 (who was

driving) says nothing is hurting, but he's busy on the phone with all the

insurance stuff and hasn't had time to really take inventory yet (IMO).

I've given them Rescue Remedy and

Arnica... and told them to take a B-Complex and Magnesium at dinner time. Any

other suggestions?

Thank you all very much~

Hi Jan,

Sounds like you did just fine. I am sorry to hear about the accident

though. As for herbal helps, well it would be better to wait and see

what aches and pains crop up. Other than that calming teas will help

your daughter.

Keep us posted Jan.

HTH,

Don

Oh, Jan, I'm sorry this happened! I've been there done that just

recently with my car being totalled by a teen talking on her cell

phone while driving. The emotional trauma is still with me, as are

the physical traumas.

Rescue Remedy is a great idea. There is a Nerve Sedative Formula in

the files section that would do wonders for anxiety (if you can't

find it or don't want to take the time to wade through, I'll email

you the recipe). I had to take it daily for quite a while after my

accident, and occasionally even now.

I am SURE that you are already doing this, but LOTS of love and

positive energy, assurance goes a long way. It's what gets me through.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Jan, and especially with your

family.

Peace, love, laughter

Hi Jan,

Also a nice soak in a tub of hot water will do them all a world of good

too. You can add some epsom salts to the water or some essential oils of

your choice.

Don who can imagine that they are all a little sore this morning having

been through several auto accidents myself.

Jan,

Sorry my response is so late in coming but hope this helps for

future -

Symptoms of injury following accidents usually don't crop up for 24-

48 hours post accident, so good on you for starting out.

I would also say no heat for 24-48 hours post accident. Generally,

my coworkers (I work for a Chiro, massage therapist and

acupuncturist) reccommend ice during acute phase, and then

alternating heat/ice for a bit. Just to reduce inflammation from

initial damage. Heat will help loosen muscles, but can also increase

inflammation to an area that is already sore or injured. I know

others reccommend heat, I guess it is your call :).

I have found great luck with homeopathic Bryonia (30C) 6x a day, when

there is pain with movement (especially pain in the chest or

abdomen). My fiance even cracked ribs and the stuff worked

wonderfully to reduce the pain. Also, Traumeel (from a company

called Heel, if you can find it) which is a blend of i think 8

different homeopathics. I've used it to support before and after a

surgery, after athletic injuries and slips/trips/falls. They even

make a cream to apply topically.

Just a couple thoughts. :) Hope all is well and they are on the mend.
