Guest guest
>what is the theory about a coffee enema? It seems like it >would be so acidic on my colon. And I'm not allowed to drink coffee..so why >would it he healthy to put it up me? See this great explanation about the coffe enema below. Patty http://www.gerson.org/healing/articles/nl_detoxingliver.htm Detoxing and the Flagging Liver(part 2 of 3)(From Gerson Healing Newsletter Vol. 15, No. 3, May-June, 2000) by [This is Part 2 of a 3 part series of articles by Ms. ] I've come to the conclusion that nowadays treatment follows the premise "the more that is wrong with you, the more you put in." Many clients come with bags full of nutritional supplements, homeopathic remedies and herbal preparations and have been following a diet that I couldn't fault on a scientific nutritional basis and yet they have seen no significant impact on health or real reversal of their condition. Why? - they ask. The answer is simple - if you don't address the toxicity then you can expect no long-term results. In fact, with detoxification - the more that is wrong with you, the less you put in. There are three questions that need to be answered: how great is the toxic load, how well can it be eliminated and how fast can we safely do this? For although a person may come with specific problems in reality these only reflect varying degrees of toxicity. The more toxic, the lower the vitality and the more severe the illness. In any case history you see a gradual deterioration on all levels; the impairment of the digestive system which may have started with simple food intolerances leading to severe allergies and chemical sensitivities; the gradual impairment of the immune system giving rise to recurrent infection, candidiasis and later parasites; the gradual decline of thyroid activity (closely connected with immune function) where the slight drop in body temperature allows persistent activation of viruses including HIV; poor blood sugar control leading to addictions and later depression and last, but not least, the general decline in fertility. So how do we handle toxicity and remove it? Detoxification involves firstly getting the tissues to release toxicity and secondly, ensuring its elimination to the outside. The second part of the equation is the most important of all, for you may be unleashing years of accumulated toxins that have been "safely" tucked away (albeit lowering the vitality of the tissues) into the blood stream at one go. This can be a greater toxic insult to the tissues and organs than the small doses received on a daily basis leaving the body in a more weakened condition than before. Unfortunately this is the first mistake that people make. They feel that the greater the toxicity, the more aggressive the treatment should be. The strongest impetus is fasting, next is fruit juice fasting, then fruit and vegetable juices, then just vegetable juices. Next comes foods - first fruits, then vegetables, first raw and then cooked. A recent case I had provides a fine example of the famous saying by the late Dr. who said "Fasting is like fire - it can either gently warm you or it can kill you." A 47 year old man suffering with chronic fatigue over the last four years sold his business and decided to take a six week holiday and go on a water fast. His previous history showed that he suffered tonsillitis as a child, later developed food intolerances, hay fever, and recently had gallstones. There was a very strong family history of heart conditions and cancer. Almost immediately following the fast the man was diagnosed with bacterial endocarditis, which carries 30% mortality. He underwent treatment but is left with a permanently compromised heart valve where he may require a valve replacement within the next 2 years. When we unlock such poisons in our system unless we ensure their removal to the outside they will damage the body and leave it vulnerable to infection. We assume that the body detoxifies as it goes along- including toxins from drugs. Yet it becomes apparent, for example, when a patient who has undergone chemotherapy starts to detox that the bone marrow may become depressed in the initial stages as the chemotherapy residue is shifted into the circulation: thus the patient effectively gets a second dose. If this is managed properly no ill effects occur. It is obvious from the case history of the example above that this man was not able to complete the second stage of the equation - elimination to the outside because his liver, a major route of detoxification, was blocked (gall stones). The more toxic we become, the more "stuck" we are and the treatment must be more carefully managed. The liver is like an exit from a congested freeway. If the exit is blocked, the traffic will jam. If we then decide to send in a bulldozer to shift the traffic you will have a pile up. This is exactly what happens when you detoxify too aggressively without ensuring that the liver can cope with the amount of toxicity released. The liver is like a filter, which can clog and become weakened. This is especially true if you have suffered from glandular fever, Ross River Fever, hepatitis, digestive problems and gallstones. We need to support the liver in its task of detoxification and there are various ways to do this. You can take specific herbs, which promote the production and flow of bile by the liver (major route of detoxification of drugs and chemicals), but this may not be totally efficient as a good proportion of the toxic bile is reabsorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract. Or there's the coffee enema! Gerson's genius lay in the fact that he recognized the dangers of toxic release into the system and he found a way to deal with it. He was working against time with many of his terminally ill patients and it was vital that he secured maximum detoxification right from the beginning. Gerson found that if he matched the rate of elimination of toxicity from the tissues with its rate of removal to the outside then over a period of time total healing occurred. It was the coffee enema that made this possible. Gerson knew that the coffee enema dilated the bile ducts and caused a flushing of toxic bile from the liver. (Drinking coffee constricts the bile ducts). He also knew that this was the most effective method for detoxification. Since Gerson's time various active ingredients in coffee have been identified and most interestingly, the palmitates present in coffee increase the binding of toxic elements by the bile 7-fold and this enzyme-enhancing ability in the liver and small intestine does not allow reabsorption of the toxic bile. Most cholerectic herbs do not ensure this complete removal of toxins but only an increase in bile flow. In order to assist detoxification I often recommend the coffee enema. They guard against a toxic build-up that can make you feel so dreadful and in this way help the body to heal. It is important to remember that the coffee enemas go hand-in-hand with the juices: no enemas - no juices and no juices - no enemas. The juices will remove toxicity from the tissues and the coffee enema ensures its removal to the outside. If used without the juices they will ultimately have a depleting effect on nutrients. The rule of thumb is - 3 juices (3 x 250mls) per coffee enema. If you increase the juices then you can safely increase the enemas. Guest guest
I don't just have a regular enema bag--I have a colema board. I don't know how safe it is to use everyday, and how much coffee I should put in the large pail. Does anyone know?
Guest guest
...do you put the juices in with the enema or do you drink the juices after the enema? Don't use juices in your enema--just the coffee. Drink juices as a regular part of your coffee enema program. How much coffeel should I put in the enema? I use the whole quart. And how many enemas can I safely administer per week? My naturopath does them daily, every morning. He even told us that he takes an annual cruise, and he and his wife faithfully take their enema bags with them on the cruise, and just order an extra pot of coffee in their cabin! Guest guest
I don't just have a regular enema bag--I have a colema board. I don't know how safe it is to use everyday, and how much coffee I should put in the large pail. Does anyone know? My recommendation would be to use the colema board first, doing a 5 gallon bucket with clear water first. Go buy yourself an enema bag. They cost $10. Then, put the quart of coffee in the enema bag and retain it for 15 minutes. It will do you no good to use the coffee diluted in 5 gallons of water, as you have to retain it. Here is some testimony from a woman on another board about her use of coffee enemas to cleanse her colon. I don’t know if enemas are necessary, but, I decided that I wanted to get the debris out of my colon so that my body had to go into the fat reserves if it wanted more nutrition than was being provided by the supplements on the cleanse. So, I did enemas each evening. My thinking was that I was going to do them until the water ran clean. I used a regular 2 qt. Enema bag and inserted the hose as high as was comfortable and held it as long as possible while massaging my colon. I learned how to massage my colon from this site. http://www.colema-boards.com/instruct_video.htm I think that the video on this site also shows some of the black ropey stuff that comes out during the cleanse. It is amazing how much stuff comes out compared to the amount going in. I also learned to put a colander in the toilet to see what was coming out and examine it for parasites. I was pretty sure I didn’t have parasites, but not sure. That was a new line of thinking for me. I decided to do the coffee enemas to also cleanse the liver. So, I brewed up at least three big pots of regular coffee, not de-caf. I made them during the day so that they were cool enough to use each evening. I have a great big glass pot that I put the coffee in to wait for the evening. I then used the coffee full strength followed by water until the water ran clean. I have now discovered that I probably should have done it in the reverse order and done the water first until it ran clean, then did the coffee and retained it for at least 15 minutes. That isn’t how I did it though. The fourth day, I switched from coffee enemas to garlic enemas to start killing parasites that are harmful. I didn’t think I had them, I was already into the cleanse and it wasn’t that big of a deal to just add this to what I was already doing “just in case.” I did the first seven day cleanse, then ate fresh fruits and veggies for three days, then went back on another 7 day cleanse. After researching the parasite topic for a while, it seemed to me that to effectively kill parasites their normal food supply needs to be taken away from them for a few days so that they will eagerly take the poison food we are going to give them! After the second cleanse and adding the garlic to the enemas and not passing any parasites, I decided that I didn’t have any. It was a reassuring feeling.I was feeling so much better and my weight was coming off quickly so I started another 7 day cleanse. My sugar cravings were much better, but still a problem once I ate after the cleanse. While discussing this with a friend of mine during the second cleanse, this friend kept telling me that I really hadn’t done anything to kill the parasites effectively and I had too many parasite symptoms not to do a parasite cleanse at the same time. I kept telling them I didn’t have parasites, but to shut them up I added black walnut to my daily supplements. On day four, I started drinking a cup of apple juice before taking the psyllium/bentonite mixture, plus I started taking my psyllium/bentonite mixture mixed with apple juice. Then about ½ hour later, I took 4 or 5 capsules of black walnut. I did this 4 or 5 times a day for the remainder of the cleanse. The next day, much to my shock and horror, I started passing lots and lots of worms. I would say that I passed probably 5 toilets bowls full of worms over a few days time frame. I had no idea that I even had worms. I thought that I was pretty healthy, so it was a real shock that they were in me. I was just doing the parasite cleanse to shut that friend of mine up, the one that kept telling me that my sugar problem was actually a parasite problem. I had wanted to be able to say, "See, I did your stupid parasite cleanse and no parasites!" "So enough already!" But that wasn't the case at all, my friend was right! I had them. I guess I wasn't prepared for what happened because I really never thought I had parasites. I was just following directions. I passed so many worms it was shocking! I had been putting the colander in the toilet as directed to “see” what was coming out. I tell you, if you have a weak stomach, that might not be such a good idea! The parasites that came out of me started off being fluffy white jelly fish kind of things, then over the next few days those stopped passing and I passed a lot of white worms that look like the kind I have seen dogshave. I had a lot of those, probably three colanders full of them! Then I passed some pinkish worms and some dark gray worms! After the worms stopped passing I noticed an immediate feeling of well being. I wasn’t as irritable. My cellulite looked better, in fact on the front of my thighs it was gone! That was really strange. My metal mouth breath was gone. My little one quit complaining of “stinky teeth” All this cleansing went on over a period of about a month.
Guest guest
Instead of using an enema bag, how about using the bucket, the colema board and just putting 2 quarts of water and the coffee in, and and regulating the flow so I can hold it in, with the clamp? Guest guest
Hi Patty, What do you mean don't dilute it, just put it in?. . Do you mean Ishould just put the coffee that's in the pot in the bucket without adding extra water? (make the coffee the regular way in a coffee pot wwith water) Thanks Patty, (i appreciate your help a lot!!) Carol
Guest guest
If it was me, this is what I would do: Make a pot of coffee in a glass pan, using one quart water and 3 T. of organic ground coffee. Simmer for 15 minutes, strain and let it cool. While the coffee is cooling, do a regular treatment with the colema board, using the whole 5 gallon bucket of clear water first. Get off the colema board and put it away. Get out an enema bag. Put the quart of lukewarm coffee in the enema bag and insert it. Retain the coffee for 7 to 15 minutes. You need to retain a coffe enema, and not immediately release it. That's it! That is how I would use coffee enema therapy. According to one website I saw yesterday, you can put the coffee in the water in your 5 gallon bucket, and do the colema as you regularly would. However, I can't see the value in this, as you will not get the dilated bile ducts which help to release toxins. Guest guest
Why not put the coffee in the colema board if you can hold it. I have practiced and seem to be able to hold it using the boards--controlling the clamp. Or is it better to use the enema bag because you can move around to your left side? Thanks Patti
