Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My name is Donna and I am new to this list. I have been suffering from various health problems for some time now. I am (33) and years ago a doctor suggested that I may have Candida Albicans. I never really followed through with the natural treatments and dietary suggestions and I was ever diagnosed. I also has LS (Lichen Sclerosis). I am researching the connection and came across you guys. I have a couple of questions and hope that I can get a response. 1) How do I go about getting a " diagnosis " of Candida Albicans 2) Does anyone on this list suffer with LS (Lichen Sclerosis). (If you haven't heard of this I would be happen to send you information and we can discuss it). My son also is having some problems that suggest a link to CA. I am very tired of being sick and tired and I am trying to get to the bottom of my problems so any of your suggestions will be helpful. I have read " The Yeast Connection " written by G. Cook M.D. (well sort of) and am looking for more information. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. Donna

Hi Kate and those of you who e-mailed me privately, LS or Lichen Sclerosis (aka Lichen Sclerosus) is a painful skin condition that typically affects the vulva and anus. In women, LS falls under the general category of Vulvodynia (chronic vulvar pain). It is not a contagious conditions. Some researchers believe that LS may be associated with an increased risk of developing vulval or penile cancer. The symptoms of LS are thinning skin, white patches of skin, itching and/or burning, painful sexual intercourse and sores(cuts) resulting from scratching. If left untreated LS can result in fusing of the skin, atrophy, and narrowing of the vagina. Not all of these need to be present. Some women do not experience itching, for example only pain. The most common sufferers of LS are post-menopausal women, although the disease can strike women of any age, including young girls. In addition, there are many know cases of men and boys diagnosed with LS. The most common misdiagnoses for lichen sclerosis is yeast infection. Other misdiagnoses included herpes or a bacteria infection. I am in the process of researching the connection between LS and Candida Albicans. ( I have both ). That is why your help is important. If you have any of these symptoms or if you have Lichen Sclerosis I am very active in trying to find a " cure " and would like to help. If anyone has any questions or need further information on the subject please write to me @ DKalligeros@... Thank you for responses, Donna
