Hi everyone,

I am new to this group and by joining I hope to get some help in overcoming this

dreadful disease.

I am a 36 year old male and have had candidiasis for 18 years. My symptoms

started as seasonal allergies then progressed to bowel problems and later to

allergies to almost everything---inhalant, food, and chemical. Eight years

passed before I diagnosed myself with candidiasis after reading the book " The

Yeast Syndrome. " During this eight-year period I took many courses of

antibiotics for recurring sinus infections and later had sinus surgery---it

didn't help of course. While on the antibiotics I felt good, but a couple of

weeks after completing a course my sinuses would become infected again and the

cycle would repeat.

I started seeing Dr. Truss, the one who discovered this illness, in 1992. On my

first visit I presented him with a list of approximately 100 symptoms that I

regularly experienced. My symptoms have slowly improved over the years since

treatment first began; however I am far from being well. His treatment program

consists of Nystatin, allergy injections, and the low-carb diet, which I can't

seem to stick with.

At this time, my chief complaints are:

-inhalant allergies--ragweed, mold, grass/tree pollen, dust,

etc.

-food allergies/intolerance--dairy, mold, malt, corn, MSG,

aspartame, vinegar, starches, and more

-fatigue, aches, tiredness, lethargy

-My joints feel stiff all the time. It seems I am always

" popping " my ankles, knees, neck, wrists, and knuckles.

Is there anybody out there that has had similar symptoms and overcome this

disease? If so, how did you do it?

Over the past couple of days I have read a lot about bowel cleansing:

- Does this help with the candidiasis?

- What program is recommended?

- Has anybody tried the 10-day lemonade diet?

Any comments, suggestions, or recommendations would be appreciated.
