In my research and readings I have found that Candida, CFS and FM are all

basically the same thing, i have a few sites i oculd post but honestly I

can't recamend : What your doctor may NOT tll you about FM " It talks about a

pill in there that seems to be obn;ything that really helps and eventurlly

gets rid of our condition, you have to follow the diet as wella nd no

asprin or I can'tthink of the owrod, but it's on make up I know that. i

can't remeberw hat it is. i would highly recamned you all read it.

I know it sounds to easy to be true, but we are use to complicated and not

everything has to be.

New group member.

Hi everybody,

My name is and I come from Ireland. I have only found out recently

that I am suffering from candidiasis after first becoming ill around

Christmas time two years ago. I have been searching for a cause for my

increasingly worsening symptoms during that time and was beginning to lose

hope until I came across some candida information recently and everything

began to make sense.

During my late teens and early twenties I had suffered increasingly from

skin problems, I had gone to my local doctor who referred me to a

dermatalogist who prescribed me a cortisone cream and some antibiotics.

Unfortunately she neglected to tell me of the dangers of using them long

term, and although my condition improved markedly in the short term, the

longer term has been a different story. I discontinued the antibiotics after

about 6 months but I kept taking the cream on and off for about two years,

only stopping after reading with horror about the side effects of long term

steroid usage two years ago (no mention of candidiasis though). It was then

my symptoms began to develop and have got worse since then. Despite various

standard medical tests and referrals I was fobbed off at every turn with

diagnoses of viruses, fibromyalgia, and depression. None of my doctors

seemed concerned that it was only after discontinuing the steroid cream that

I became ill. In the 2 years I had to give up university and was forced to

move back home.

However,my diagnosis has filled me with a new lease of life and hopefully

with your help I can begin to get my life back again.

I have been on a candida diet for about 5 weeks and I have got a few

questions some of you knowledgeable people on the list may be able to

answer.

From your own experiences I was wondering what are the most effective

anti-fungals are, and am I able to take them everyday or do I have to rotate

them?

I'm also a bit unclear on how much of each I should be taking every day.

I'm also considering taking L-glutamine for leaky gut , have you found it as

good as some people claim?

Also, a couple of sites I came across recommended taking some essential

amino acids, what do you think?

Finally, I was hoping you may know a good candida diet site, I am finding

the restricted choices very boring.

I hope you all have a healthly new year and that most of us won't be on the

list this time next year!

You MUST rotate - I've had success (ie hideous die-off!) with olive

leaf extract, oregano oil, pau d'arco and (less so) caprylic acid.

Well, my homeopath reckons my gut is much, much better after

taking two 500mg capsules daily for a little over a month, and my

food reactions aren't quite as bad any more.

I can recommend some books - the 'Beat Candida cookbook' by

a White is a pretty good place to start, although she does use

a lot of wheat which most of us can't have.

Happy New Year!!

What exactly are/were your die-off symptoms?

Any brain fog or spaciness?

Yes, that's how I describe my die-off when it is bad, horrible spacey

disconnected feeling, almost like I'm not quite connected to by body

also. My latest bad spell was after Christmas. I was starting to feel

*very* well, then came the holidays and I stupidly ate a bunch of no-

nos, like dressing (made with bread which I can't have cause of leaky

gut) and pumpkin pie. (Hey, it's better than the old days when I used

to get sloppy drunk!) Felt spacy for a couple of days then decided to

two cloves of raw garlic, and the next day was over the top, die-off

wise. (Garlic is very potent in my case.) Not fun, but I couldn't

resist all the happy family stuff going on with the eats and pie. Oh

well, back on the wagon.
