Hi ,

I am sure praying this will all work out for you. After being on SS and SSI

since I was 19 (31 now), I am sure fed up with the whole lot of them. In

order to survive, I have to practically tell them what color my underwear is!

It is really a sore topic with me. I feel like I have no privacy. But I have

no choice if I want a roof and food. I guess we just bite it and try to grin.

=)

If I couldn't take someone in with me to a doc appointment, I would be

*extremely* suspicious as to why. Not only that, I have always assumed for

their protection they would have a nurse in with them so that the patient

can't scream rape or something. And to me, that is the same the other way

around. For " our " protection to have someone with us.

Please talk to your lawyer about this. This doesn't sound right to me. Heck,

when I went to see my doc a few years back to get my shoulder drained, to

check for infection, I had my girlfriend go in with me AND her 2 kids! The

doc wasn't my normal doc that day, but a sub. He had no problem with my

friend being in there with me and her 2 and 6 year old kids.

I wonder if the doc doesn't want anyone in with you bcs it makes him nervous?

Like he is being graded? And the ones who don't care if you bring your whole

family are just really secure in their work. Know what I mean?

Maybe there is a place on the net somewhere that lists your rights as a

patient when you go to a doctor? That would be something to print up and take

with you when the doc says no to your friend coming in, you can hand him the

paper that has your rights on it. I'll go see if I can find something. I have

a few minutes to kill.

When do you go see this doc again?
