Guest guest
Thanks, . I'll try to up my fat intake - Louis already force- feeds me avocados most days, whether I want them or not!! If I can't get hold of whey protein (I'm in the UK, and half the ingredients I see discussed here are unheard of in my local health shop!), would slippery elm be a viable substitute? Not convinced about the raw egg, either - whenever I've had eggs which were even remotely undercooked I've had a horrible reaction to them, and raw egg white binds biotin, and has been warned against in every source I've read. A lot of my dietary problems are allergy-related at the moment. My candida is nearly all dead, apparently, but I've got serious leaky gut issues and am reacting to a lis of foods as long as your arm at the moment. Not coconuts as yet, though, so I'll use more coconut milk and see what happens! Cheers, Ann ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.willow-web.net Quality Web Design ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Guest guest
Hi . Thank you for your answer. I used to take coffe with sugar and a cafiaspirine since ever because of the lift this mixture produces. I abandoned the coffe and sugar but I am still stuck to the cafiaspirine. I asked my doctors for an alternative but nothig could replace the aspirin. Atkins says octacosanol is good but others say it do not produce any benefit. I can not say anything about this product because there is not such a thing in my country. What can you tell me about octacosanol?. Greetings. Date: Wed, 13 Dec 2000 03:34:45 -0500 Well, since I opted to receive a daily digest of messages, I'm responding to several of them at the same time. Claudio: I think the reason why you're getting the reaction to that aspirin you're taking is because of the caffeine--it is very bad to take when you have candida. One fo the reasons why is because of the fluctuations in blood sugar that it causes. The reason why coffee gives people a lift in the morning is because it prompts your cells to release sugar into the bloodstream and SUGAR FEEDS CANDIDA. When I was in the midst of my worse, the slightest bit of coffee or tea gave me migraines within 15 minutes, as well as a lift followed by drowsiness. Why exactly are you taking this product? Perhaps there is an alternative. Ann: You mentioned that you're always hungry on this diet--this should not be. The problem is, I think, that you are not eating enough fat which would satiate you and give you more energy. Coconut oil or milk is an excellent fat to use, especially since it contains both caprylic and lauric acids which are lethal to candida. I put all of my CFIDS and candida patients on a coconut milk smoothie in the morning--you may want to try it: 1/2 can unsweetened coconut milk (full fat) 3-4 oz of water to dilute 1-2 drops of stevia (optional) 1 scoop unsweetened whey protein powder (NO SOY--too hard to digest) 1 raw egg 1 frozen strawberry (optional) Mix in blender and enjoy. I know the strawberry is a fruit, but berries are the lowest in sugar of all fruits. Also, you need more than veggies to thrive, with or without candida. Meat, eggs, and nuts can round out your diet as long as no allergies are present. Be careful to prepare nuts in a way that eases their digestion--see my nuts article on my website to learn more. You'll find that if you increase your fat intake, your blood sugar will stabilize. Be sure, though, that you only eat good fats and avoid the bad ones (margarine, all vegetable oils, all vegetable shortenings, hemp oil, canola oil, soy oil). Websites to visit: http://www.lauric.org for the wonders of coconut oil http://www.westonaprice.org for info on fats. Something I also noticed is that it appears that several of you are using single antifungal remedies, in rotation. The ONLY way that I finally overcame candida was to hit it hard with everything at the same time: diet, herbs, oregano oil, peppermint oil, stabilized oxygen, probiotics (LOTS), colloidal silver, and soil based organisms. I also did retention enemas with probiotics and goldenseal added to the water daily for about three weeks. These helped me tremendously.
