Does the smell of pure aromatherapy oils affect you? Seeing as they are

natural, and beneficial to our bodies, hopefully they don't! If you don't

have a problem with them, I can recommend some oils to apply topically for

eczema.

Mic,

Have you tried pure vitamin E. It comes in a liquid form, and had no smell.

I used it daily when I was nursing my kids, and they had no adverse affects

at all. didn't deter them from nursing at all. plus I use it on my five

year olds exema spots.

On the subjects of irritating scents and chemical reactions, I too have that

problem. When I go out to a public place I have to be careful because

perfumes, gasoline and new carpet smells can give me a huge reaction. I can

literally feel my lymph nodes swelling in my neck and I get confused, etc.

What I have found that lessens the reactions and gives me a bit more

tolerance is Quercetin C. I take 2 capsules before I go out (in case I get

exposed). If I am exposed I take 2 more. There is something about it that

neutralizes some allergic reactions. I read about it in a book and tried it.

It works for me and has saved me from some miserable reactions.

Ali,

I used to looooove oranges. I love the smell of citrus. If my husband

peals an orange, I now have to leave the room. It is so ridiculous and

out of control, at this point, which is why I'm determined to get rid of

this candida overgrowth! I can't tolerate smells.... of any kind.... even

foods bother me. :(

Hi,

I too have terible reactions to scents. Try opening some vitamin E capsules

and squeeze the contents out. This has worked for me. You also may want to

try almond oil which has virtually no scent. or perhaps Vaseline?

I'll think about this at work today andd then email you later if anything

else pops into my head. I have been plagued by this scent thing my entire

life. I have actually had to FIRE employees that would not comply with our

store policy as to NO PERFUMES. They thought it was a joke that I would get

violenty ill and have horrible migraines when they would come in to work

with this horrible smelling stuff on. NO MORE.......

-- the search for fragrance free

Okay, I am so frustrated. I just returned from yet another trip to the

health food store. I think I should own stock there. Anyway, I have been

looking for a FRAGRANCE-FREE topical ointment for my 4-month old son's

eczema. I bought vit-E ointment. I looked at the ingredients... very

simple... aloe, vit. E... Now, I just put the ointment on Dominic and it

has a very strong smell. It reminds me of something my grandma used to

cook with.... I can't put my finger on it, but it is killing my sinuses

already! It's like a strong ginger smell or something. Due to my

candida, I suffer from chemical sensitivity. Does anyone know what I can

use to treat his eczema that is free of cortisone and fragrance?

Stumped... and irritated,

Mic

Unscented baby oil? Wonderful! I need to find that somewhere.

I take flax oil daily (internally)... are you suggesting using it

externally on my son?

Thanks!

You could buy the flax oil that would sometimes be used as a salad

dressing. Sweet almond oil is also an option. The other thing, a bit more

expensive though, would be rosehip oil. It's used especially for skin

conditions, and is amazing on burns. It doesn't smell like anything

(despite its association with roses).

Mic,'

I just used pure vitamin e and I bought it at walmart. I have also squeezed

it out of capusles, but that gets messy. I will let you know if I find any

online.

And as for my name, it is Korean.
