Guest guest
Stuck, I took Depo-provera for a little over a year and ended up having a bad reaction to it. It caused the lining of my uterus to become too thin, which resulted in me bleeding to death and becoming severely anemic and having to be hospitalized because of it. They ended up putting me on birth control pills with estrogen in them to get the bleeding to stop and to keep it from happening again. I hate being on the pill but it's the only way to keep from having really bad cramps and being so sick for nearly a week every month that I can't get out of bed at all. What ever you decide birth control wise, make sure to discuss it with your doctor or ob/gyn. Guest guest
Stuck, The other thing is that it can take 1-3 years for you to be able to get pregnant once you decide that you want to have a child if you decide to go on depo-provera after you stop taking it. There are different kinds of birth control pills, you might want to talk to your doctor or ob/gyn about changing it to something else, they can also give you a prescription for ibprofen-prescription strength. I know because my family doctor had to give me a prescription for prescription strength ibprofen when I was 12 years old because my cramps where so bad that I couldn't do anything other than be in extreme pain. Before I went on Depo-provera I had cramps so bad that I was sick for the entire week I was on my period and couldn't get out of bed. The depo made that better, but then I had the bad reaction to it, so now I'm on birth control pills with estrogen in them. I still have cramps but not to the point that I used to.
