Guest guest
I thought I was going crazy when I noticed my teeth discoloring ... I had a follow up with my LLMD who IMMEDIATELY noticed it before I could ever ask! She immediately took me off of the Minocycline ... she mentioned that there is a very small number of adults that it does effect - obviously I was one. She actually had an LLMD in training assisting her; she was very glad I was there so she could show the " tiny black spots behind my teeth (obviously I couldn't see them )) My first reaction was " can I have a tooth brush ... backed by I swear I brush!!!! My initial thought was there was something wrong with my well water at home, mainly because I had been told by other doctors that mino did not discolor adult teeth. Well, within a week of stopping the mino (switched to clyndamycin) 80% of the discoloration had corrected (my LLMD said the quicker you get off, the better chance of the color returning to normal). I do still have a few discoloration spots - but I haven't been able to get into the dentist yet for a real cleaning - hopefully that will get what didn't correct itself. I know in my case it was the mino because Doxy is not in the combo I am taking (doxy didn't work for me; stopped taking it last December ...)
