Guest guest
Hi there! I empathize with all of you and have been down this same road. I filed and got disability last spring after a lengthy process. I went through the initial filing and first rejection, filed the second time and then had to do 3 doc visits - regular doc, psychiatrist and then was sent for psych testing (all paid for by the state and they want you to be rejected so it helps to know what to say and what they're going to ask; and how to direct the psych visit). Anyway, my eval/testing took 3 hours and I failed miserably!! After that I got a lawyer involved for the final piece. He was able to get me disability for a number of things (all lyme related - CFS, FMS, severe apnea/sleep disorders, etc.) and I don't think ever mentioned lyme. He was able to avoid my actually having to go for a hearing - anyway, if you need help, let me know. Also, if you need a lawyer and are in land, please let me know. My guy was wonderful! He's in a small firm so there was lots of personal attention. He's an old friend, and now really gets the lyme diagnosis, which will shortcut everybody else's trying to explain everything - he won't think you're crazy!! Good luck, hope this helps.
