Hi,

I've suspected I have Lyme for a while. Had a tick on my knee that I removed in

June of 2009. My main symptoms are anxiety and heart palps when say walking up

steps. My hair seems to be coming out faster lately than in the past.

This past Saturday I had a tick on my left arm that I removed. I was outside

doing yardwork for no longer than 6 hours.

Went to Urgycare and they drew blood for Lyme test. No antibiotics because they

said the tick wasn't on long enough to transmit disease.

This afternoon I started to feel more tired than normal and a little chilled. I

have MVP and it seems to be acting up. My head feels kinda funny. Not like a

headache but funny, numb kinda.

Could I be having symptoms already or could it be a co-infection? I'm suppose to

follow up with my GP to get the result and then have another test done in 6

weeks.

Last year I told him about the tick on my knee but he didn't think much of it.

If someone already has Lyme or a co-infection and then gets bitten again do they

again have early symptoms again?

Tnx,

Mike

you should go to a lyme literate doctor immediately. you have to spend out

of pocket but it will be well worth your health in and money and time in the

future. i am saying this because your GP already blew you off and will

probably do the same again. if you tell us where you are located we can

email you privately the names of dr.s closest to you. please, don't waste

any time!

I got what I thought was a summer cold/flu/asthma flare-up just days after a

hike through a state park and have been sick ever since.

Just realized it's two years this week - it was right around now.  I just

mentioned this out loud to my husband, who said, " The number of people who don't

give a damn is disgusting. "   Yes.  This disease has been a journey into a place

I could have lived my whole life without knowing about.

This is not something to mess around with - RUN to an LLMD - dont listen to ER

docs or your GP. Ticks can transmit as soon as they attach to you - time does

not matter - all they have to do is exchange fluids with you - whcih can be done

quickly....there is no magic time for this to happen. If you are having

symptoms of any kind I would not ignore them - and dont let them give you a

month of antibiotics....I would go to an LLMD as soon as possible.

a lyme literate dr. will probably retest your through www.igenex.com and see

if you have coinfections also (other infections a tick can pass on) only the

llmd can assess the symptoms you have experienced and the test results to

make a judgement call on how long.

a few months might do it if caught early, or some people have been on for a

few years. everyone is different, that is why it is so important to see a

llmd.

Mike,

There is really no specific time anyone can give you with certainty. I would

HIGHLY suggest going to an LLMD....lyme is often not just lyme - it can often

have several other c0-infections. It is critical to treat all of these

infections if you have them. The only way to know is be tested and seen by an

LLMD that knows about these so they can also evaluate clinically. They will

also be able to judge how long you will nedd to be on antibiotics. This IS NOT

something to mess around with. Yes, LLMDs are expensive and the test are

expensive - BUT in the long run it will be much cheaper to do it now - early on.

The longer it goes without PROPER treatemnt the harder it is to get rid of. If

you do not take care it this correctly now, then you could be looking at tens of

thouseands of dollars in treatment and years of pain and treatment. I am not

saying this to scare you - I just wish I would have known this early on. I

would not mess around with doctors who are not LLMDs - they may act like they

know what they are talking about - BUT THEY DON't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
