Hey,

If anyone else has bad food allergies like I do (must be from leaky gut, but

a lot of foods make me depressed or give me a runny nose), here is a product

that apparently decreases histamine and makes it easier to eat without

symptoms. I wouldn't go out and eat all the allergenic foods, but if you're

reacting to almost everything (like I am) it could be of assistance.

From the web site (http://histame.com/faqs):

Q: What can help food intolerance?A: Diamine Oxidase (DAO) is the body’s own

absorbing enzyme for histamine. If histamine, due to a deficit of enzymes or

repression, is not regulated in a sufficient quantity, the symptoms of

histamine intolerance can be released. DAO appears in the whole body, the

most important spot is the gut. The activity of DAO determines the speed

with which histamine is abolished. In the case of a DAO-deficit or a

DAO-repression, histamine gets accumulated, which again causes the symptoms

of HIT.

In case of a reduced DAO-activity, histamine-related food needs to be

avoided, which due to the various compositions of foods is getting more and

more difficult and means a strict and permanent diet.

I tried a free sample I got from iherb, and I thought it worked really well;

in fact I felt better than I'd felt in a while, very calm (I seem to run

high in histamine. My doctor has me on 10mg loratidine (the ingredient in

Claritin besides pseudoephedrine, a non-drowsy antihistamine) but I don't

notice any difference from this).
