Guest guest
Hi, everyone, Thank you for your replies, both on-list and offlist, regarding supplements and more. I really appreciate it, and have started the Milk Thistle this morning since I had it already. About the warnings many gave me, regarding fighting for ourselves --- it happened. Yes, I had a positive test for Lyme, and a referral to a specialist in Toronto. That appointment is on April 15, 7 weeks away. I've been infected in Aug. 2007, as far as I can tell. When I went to my doctor yesterday to ask for Doxy at least, he didn't want to prescribe them. Many of you warned me of that, so I wasn't too surprised. He wanted to wait for me to see the ID / Microbiologist/LLMD. Or at least do his own research. When I pushed a little harder, he said he'd call the ID himself and ask what he should do. I don't want to sully my relationship with dr. B before I even see him, and from what I've read, the antibiotics (even though I dislike taking them) would potentially do less harm now than the " bugs " at the loose in my body. So, I left, empty handed. But everything so far has been going very well, so I really was prepared for a road block! My GP promised to call me back today or as soon as possible, with a prescription, if the ID gives the ok. But the scary thing was that my left eye was black this morning. Or sightless. Not sure how to put it. Couldn't see out of it. I was on my right side before getting up, so don't think I squashed a vein or something. When I opened my eyes, in the half-light of the room, I only saw half of what I expected to see. Sat up carefully, no change. Walked downstairs carefully. Closing right eye with left eye open, there was just this thick veil in front of me, but it was slowly clearing. Seems to be fine now. Scary? You bet! I have no idea if this is a symptom of Lyme or not, but have recorded it. This has happened a few times, but this time it stayed like a veil for a bit longer than before. This is the same eye that bothers me most these last years, gets infection or the “gritty†feelings, is sensitive to cold, and is often painful.  I’m only reporting what happened, and the fact that it was a frightening experience. My eyes are very important to me – all my interests, hobbies and loves centre around them. (Photography, graphic design, Quilling - a paper craft, computer work, etc.) I’m worried about leaving things untreated for yet another 7 weeks, although I know many people go for years being undiagnosed. Thanks for reading, and/ or for any input.
