people doubting chronic Lyme

Ugh, do you guys get this? People saying they don't think you have chronic

Lyme?

One of my friends on facebook researches chronic pain. He saw my Lyme blog

and wrote to say, " Hey, I don't think you have chronic Lyme. You have

fibro/chronic pain. You have all the risk factors. "

Then he took it upon himself to look up studies on chronic Lyme. He says,

look at all these prestigious studies saying it doesn't exist.

and he says, " there are no studies except in bad journals about antibiotics

helping patients " " I think that's telling. "

Arg.... does he not realize that research papers are not always true! Things

can go wrong in research: paradigms, conflicts of interest, corruption, who

knows what else.

Lyme has really taught me to be skeptical of published research.

It might make someone *look *smart to believe all large published studies

and only published studies; however, if you really learn what's going on,

you might start to distrust these large studies.
