My LLMD insists that I MUST take quercetin along with my abx, because it can

greatly reduce the cytokine production caused by herx. And this also relates to

keeping inflammation down.

He says 500 mg minimum, but I usually take 1000 with each dose.

Oh, and another idea:

On a longer-term basis, the inflammation problem may be caused by poor

glutathione production, which leads to huge toxic buildups in the system and

also gravely impairs immune function. A compromised immune system can easily

create the kind of hyperinflammatory reactions you're getting.

To address this, you might consider Rich Van Konyenenburg's Simplifed Protocol,

which is designed to help CFS patients restore GSH production over time (time,

in this case, being 1-2 years). It's a small handful of supplements that many

CFS and some Lyme patients use to strongly improve immune function. If it's

working, it actually creates strong herxes of its own as GSH comes back online

and starts moving crud out of the tissues.

Thanks, Sara. I will certainly do an online search to learn more. Do you

have any particular links or suggested places where you got your information

about both cytokine production and quercetin? This is a new area of info

for me.

What brand quercetin do you use?

I remember reading about quercetin in relation to allergies about 20 years

ago, but now's the term to learn more.

Thanks so much.

Anywhere and everywhere. It's a standard supplement. I think even Costco carries

it -- though I have not been impressed with the quality of Costco's house

supplements in the past.
