I had asked his ENT if swimming was ok and he said as long as he had

his ear plug it was fine. (the sticky water proof kind)

After sunday we will not be visiting the pool for quite some time.

:( If the pool is a cause of or added to the problem I really wish

his dr had warned me of this. Any chance and I wouldn't have taken

him.

Although thanks to this group I am now beginning to understand alot

more than I had before~!

any more ctoma that he could see, I have an apt with the neurologist

No smell that I noticed....

Just rather nasty looking which I was expecting to happen at some

point since he has a tube and the drainage has a " way " out of the

ear.

He has neo/poly drops we put in 3 every night. Sometimes they sting

but they never have made him dizy, I learned quickly to warm them,

sometimes i have him hold the bottle while I read :P

They gave him an amox (not amoxicillian but similar) Friday.

He also takes singular every night and nasonex.

We see Dr. Nissen tomorrow for the first time. I took it upon myself

to find an otologist, just got lucky that one of the two in the area

was a neuro otologist! I figure since he is only 7 he has to live

with what they do for a long time and I want the best we can get.

As for the surgery, we will find out when we see Dr. Nissen tomorrow.

Great idea about the email. I always come up with more questions

after I " digest " what they say. I am making index cards as we speak!

lol.

Thanks...

I prefer people to squat down. It hurts my neck and I can't hear well when

people don't.

Amy

Question...

OK, is it just me, or do any of the rest of you get offended, or at least

uneasy, if a taller person kneels, or hunkers down to talk to you? For me, it

feels very demeaning, even if it is not meant to be.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Marcia

I agree. I think it's far more demeaning if they lean over to talk to

you, as they would a child, than for them to kneel or squat down.

Besides, you get the pleasure of hearing their joints creak and pop as

they try to return to a standing position. ;-)

No - Quite the opposite.

If a person comes down to my eye level to speak with me, then there

is no perception that one is " larger " than the other. With our eyes

at the same level, we are equal.

I often have worked in heavy industrial environments that are very

noisy. The only way I can carry on a conversation with someone there

is either by two-way radio or by yelling in their ear and them in

mine. The second method requires the AP to kneel.

Hello all,

I personally don't like it when people bend over or kneel down to me, they look

weird doing it lol.  I usually walk over to a chair or step and they follow my

lead, if that is not available, then I stand far back where my neck isn't

creeked up. A few even plop down on the floor with me and they even enjoy it

lol. I have many friends where there is half a foots different between them and

no one bends over.  I only have ever kneeled down when talking to my toddler

cousins.

I, for one, also prefer this method of conversing. That is, if you

can't genuflect to me, then you don't talk to me!:P

Genuflect to me, you ap, and now! haha;)

And it must be a true genuflect, just short of a grovel. BUT, if it

goes to a full blown grovel, it's still acceptable! lol

Definition of genuflect, according to dictonary.com:

gen·u·flect

–verb (used without object)

1. to bend the knee or touch one knee to the floor in reverence or

worship.

2. to express a servile attitude.

Definition of grovel, also from dictionary.com:

grov·el

1. to humble oneself or act in an abject manner, as in great fear or

utter servility.

2. to lie or crawl with the face downward and the body prostrate, esp.

in abject humility, fear, etc.

3. to take pleasure in mean or base things.

—Related forms

grov·el·er; especially British, grov·el·ler, noun

grov·el·ing·ly; especially British, grov·el·ling·ly, adverb

—Synonyms 1. truckle, toady, fawn, kowtow, pander.

luv, grady:D

It depends on my relationship with the person and what's going on

around us. Most of the time I just encourage a person to sit in a chair

so I don't have to hurt my neck looking up at them or feel weird about

them squatting down in front of me.

I know most people do this out of respect and cannot think of another

way to see eye to eye. But it does feel uncomfortable to me. Of course

there are some people who do this just to annoy me and I let them know!

Yes on the heartrate, but it passed early for me. Elevated inflammation and

blood sugar are common in Lyme, and can actually get worse with antibiotics.

yes, this can be caused from too much adrenelin which our bodies can

overproduce in response to adrenal fatigue. I tried every sleeping aid and the

only thing that worked was trazodone, my doc prescribed 50mg.
