Guest guest
Thank you thank you! I actually went to the Blue cross blue shield site last night and with their numbers put together a spread sheet to determine what the best deductible/monthly cost would be if I elect a PPO: folks, across the board, regardless of your medical costs - cause I did a whole lot of variances - the best deal is the $1000 deductible. For my age the monthly premium is $132 (and I'm no spring chicken), but that is a whole lot less than the $650 a month that I had been told my company would offer me (and now is not! Geez, I think I'm quite fortunate to not work with those horrible people anymore). In fact, the Cobra option comes out to be more than twice the cost of going and getting my own insurance. I'm glad to hear about the HIPPA regulation and I will ask my lawyer to ask the employers for that letter. If anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet I did (very simple calculations, but really helpful if you are weighing your options) I'm more than happy to send it so contact me privately if you are interested.
