I spoke with HR this morning and have a meeting with the COO tomorrow. I have been struggling for a long time and even before I started my antibiotic treatment was on the verge of having to stop working. I started oral ABX in mid April and last week went on IV ABX and goodness, it's been so much harder than I thought! They told me this had the effects on your body of chemo and I guess I should have believed the MD's but I really thought I could hang on! I have initially asked for 6 weeks (have 5 weeks remaining on IV ABX). Is this a reasonable expectation? I know things work very differently for everyone but I was wondering other's experience with the same type of treatment. Did you have to leave work? Were you able to return? If yes, how long did it take for you to get back? I'm so sad about having to do this but also know it's the only chance I have to get better!
