Recently Diagnosed - a few questions

Hello all -

Based on info in this group, I went to my GP and asked to be tested

for Lyme. (I was previously tested for MS, heavy metal poisoning,

etc). I tested positive on the western blot in 3 or 4 bands. He

started me on 200 mg of Doxycycline on Friday of last week. He is a

great doctor, very open minded, and fully open to me partnering in

the diagnosis and treatment protocal. Here are the questions we both

have.

1) My symptoms are 100% neurological: headaches, the feeling that

my head is vibrating, some dizziness/vertigo (slight). This has

been going on (in 2 distinct cycles) for perhaps 7 months. We are

on the fence between early neurological Lyme involvement or late

stage Lyme disease. I don't have much (if any) peripheral

neuropathy, no memory problems, nothing too extreme. More annoying

than anything. Obviously the difference between early and late is

the difference in the treatment protocol. Thoughts?

2) Also the 2nd question: I started antibiotics 4 days ago. I

felt much better on day 1 and 2 - but much worse (stronger headaches,

more jitteriness in the head, etc) on day 3 and 4 so far. Is there

anything to the Herxheimer effect? Has anybody ever heard of it

manifesting itself in CNS involvement as opposed to muscularskeletal

involvement? I've only found info for the musuclarskeltal

involvement for the herxheimer effect.

3) When have people started to improve with CNS symptoms after

starting abx?

Any feedback would be most appreciated. I'm in Colorado so my

resources are limited?
