Guest guest
I love the idea of 's hamster blood brother. Thank you all for your humor and concern for me. I know that Bactrim, like all meds, can have side effects, but my cough was a plague so bad that it totally altered the quality of my life and severely handicapped me. I no longer could give testimony at our State House on elder issues; I no longer could play with my recorder ensembles; I could not even carry on a conversation without coughing. And in addition, everyone who met me was scared that they would catch something from me. On Bactrim, I was able to go to israel for 10 days on a very vigorous trip and have fun with thirty other travellers! Even if Bactrim shortens my life, it is better than the life I had without it. Anyway at 77, how much more life do I have? I want to enjoy it! Guest guest
Carolyn, Long time ago when I was on my late teens I remember also having a cough, without a cold, it was an allergy was discovered and it went away with some sort of allergy medication, I was then working in Kline and French Laboratories, so things got sorted within the company I remember. I was going to write about your trip as reading about it, made me remember the trip I had with my son I think it was 1998, to the Red sea and the Death sea, we had a wonderful time going up Masada to see the sun raise walking and enjoying the wild places in that area. I remember my son saying I was fitter than people his age. Keep the travelling and spirits up. regards Chonette > Message: 4 > Date: Fri, 17 Mar 2006 07:42:35 -0800 (PST) > From: Carolyn Swift <swift_carolyn@...> > Subject: Re: Bactrim > > I love the idea of 's hamster blood brother. Guest guest
Cramping can be a potassium problem. It can also be a problem with oxalates in the muscles. I know nothing of side effects of drugs I won't take. Is the cramp a potassium loss? Is the headache a sinus thing, or is there juts a lot of ragweed right now in GA? I still have UTI, but much less. The doc prescribed CIPRO! and I laughed. She was offended. I won't take that stuff unless I have to. Jane

For a UTI, the first thing I would try is Lugol's Solution. Has less side effects than drugs do. Just like if I have a respiratory infection, I'll take 5 of 6 grams of Vitamin C per hour, because I'll be a lot better off. Arhralgia (joint pain) and myalgia (muscle pain) are side effects. So's headache. Lucky you're not hallucinating. http://rxlist.com/cgi/generic/trisulf_ad.htm Musculoskeletal: Arthralgia and myalgia. Neurologic: Aseptic meningitis, convulsions, peripheral neuritis, ataxia, vertigo, tinnitus, headache. > >I still have UTI, but much less. The doc prescribed CIPRO! and I laughed. >She was offended. I won't take that stuff unless I have to. Bactrim is probably far safer than Cipro. Below is a reason not to take drugs unless you're life depends on them. (I know you must for a UTI. I had one when a fever I had seemed to move down to the urinary tract. My mother used to talk about a cold or virus moving to the chest or other places. After that happened, I believed her.) http://rxlist.com/cgi/generic/trisulf_wcp.htm#W Clinical signs, such as rash, sore throat, fever, arthralgia, pallor, purpu-ra, or jaundice may be early indications of serious reactions. FATALITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE ADMINISTRATION OF SULFONAMIDES, ALTHOUGH RARE, HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO SEVERE REACTIONS, INCLUDING STEVENS-JOHNSON SYNDROME, TOXIC EPIDERMAL NECROLYSIS, FULMINANT HEPATIC NECROSIS, AGRANULOCYTOSIS, APLASTIC ANEMIA, AND OTHER BLOOD DYSCRASIAS. ************** I think bactrim allergies are not uncommon. My wife and daugher both had allergic reactions. Guest guest
Pollen count! Ragweed! That's it. Thank you. I tend to forget that the time of year that bothers me is as soon as first the cooler air arrives. Jane
Guest guest
Has bactrim been helpful for anyone? My doc just prescribed it and I have been reading some horrible side effect stories about it that has me scared. I had to stop taking doxy due to a bad reaction (rash, extreme dryness and blisters on my face) after 3 months, and the LLMD told me to start bactrim. Thanks, Dara
