Vision and PTC issues

I wish I had more of an idea of what was going on with my...my Neuro basically

dropped me when I kep requesting a cheaper medication that I could afford to

buy. The first one was $130 and the second not much less...but I am aslo still

paying for office visits and other meds too....so in order to treat teh PTC he

had to prescribe somethign I could afford...and he refused.

He would not even prescribe lasix for me which is $4 a month at walmart!

So I asked his nurse what I was supposed to do if he would not treat me with

something I could afford. She told me to go to teh ER if I got a bad headache!

I am beyond angry! I think it is quite careless to diagnose a problem then

refuse to treat it because the patient cant afford your preference of

meds...lasix is one of the reccommended meds to trat this.

So...I dont have a clue what my pressure is. Remember, I was not having

headaches either when I was diagnosed. In fact I had only had 3 headaches in

the previous 6 months before my diagnosis.

Headaches are common with PTC...but I did not have them as my primary indicator

there was a problem. The pulsing tinitus (swooshing where you can hear the

pulse in your ear) was most bothersome for me. This is caused by an increase of

pressure in the brain and spinal column...I dont know how high the pressure has

to be before it is DANGEROUS...but I would definitely keep PURSUING another

opthamologist for a second opinion since you are having vision problems. The

fluid build up behind the optic nerve can cause the light spots, tunnel vision,

black spots, loss of peripherals, blurred and double vision.

I have recently started experiencing more hazy vision again...like seran wrap

over my eyeballs.

I am looking for a neuro-opthamologist...the best of both specialties!
