Guest guest
I see him in 4 wks. I actually feel quasey from the doxy. Should I just tell him his protocol is wrong? I feel like I was hit with a bomb. A dr. actually said I have lymes. I went to my family dr. for a shot today and i told her about the lymes and she said " did he see your tests " ? What did he say about them? I told her he said they are inacurrate in a nice way. She was a bit defensive. She said lyme is still an evolution in progress. She said be careful with all of that doxy and your stomach. In , " " <betneal@y...> wrote: > > I AGREE WITH MILLIE 600 MG SOUNDS CORRECT. Guest guest
DOXY IS SO HARD ON THE STOMACH. MAKE SURE TO DRINK A LOT OF WATER AND TAKE TONS OF PROBIOTICS. MY STOMACH IS REALLY A MESS WITH THE TINDAMAX. I HAVE LOST 9 LBS! ANYWAY I WOULD SIMPLY STATE THAT MANY PEOPLE YOU KNOW ON YOUR LYME SUPPORT GROUP AND DR BURRASCANO SUGGESTS HIGHER DOSES DOXY FOR Bb. HAVE YOU READ HIS 2005 REPORT? TELL HIM MOST ARE TAKING BETWEEN 4-600 MG DAY. RESEARCH LYME TREATMENT PROTOCOL ON LINE, SO YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF AND BE CONFIDENT WHEN YOU SPEAK WITH YOUR DR NEXT. BEING YOUR OWN ADVACATE IS HARD AT FIRST, THAN YOU REALIZE WHEN NO DR'S ARE LISTENING YOU NEED TO GET TOUGH OR FIND A LLMD WHO KNOWS THE MOST UP TO DATE TREATMENTS. I KNOW THIS IS SUCH A SHOCK TO YOU RIGHT NOW AND YOU ARE MOVING ON AUTO PILOT SO TO SPEAK, BUT IF YOU ARE TAKING ABX FOR LYME YOU NEED A HIGH ENOUGH DOSE TO DESTROY THE BUG. HOPEFULLY THE QUASEY WILL PASS, IT DID EVENTUALLY FOR ME WITH THE DOXY. > > > Congrats on finally getting appropriate treatment. Guest guest
Doxy also comes in tablets forms and I find it is much easier on the stomach. The capsules do me in, but I can handle the tabs. Guest guest
Thx. I bought them at his office. They were dirt cheap, cheaper than my insurance co-pays. I hope this dr. calls me back. I left a message today that I was having nausea. I have one more to go today. I really don't care if I pay for them at a pharmacy. I have insurance and a flex spending account. They are much cheaper than my other meds. In , " fsmfarms " <fsmfarms@f...> wrote: > > Doxy also comes in tablets forms and I find it is much easier on the > stomach. Guest guest
I noticed the tablet form doesn't seem to work as well as the capsules. This sounds were I know, but when I took the Doxy capsules it caused the tubes on my hearing aids to turn blue and/or green in the center of the tube. I switched to the Doxy tablet thinking it was the blue coloring of the capsules causing this. The pharmacist said I was wrong it was not the dye, but just the nature of Doxy itself. He gave me the tan Doxy tablets anyway and it only caused a dark navy blue staining on the very end of the sound tube. It is less noticable being at the end of the tube. However I don't herx as much on the tablets and also am not running spirochetes out through my skin. When I was on Doxy capsules it put the spircochetes on the run and they tried to escape the antibiotics by coming out of the skin. My LLMD explained what was happening to me. The only thing was they weren't escaping all the way out, they got trapped in pockets of gunk that formed large bumps. My dr cut opened up a large bump and found the spirochetes had tried to wall themselves off for protection. It looked like white grandular sand and my dr scooped out a gunk for 15 minutes. After the grandular stuff was removed out poured this bright yellow oily fluid. It was not like pus. It was something else not sure what, but apparently has to do with Lyme. A friend told me one of her relatives had the same thing come out of her knee and the dr tested it and it was Lyme. So to make a long story short I don't think the tablets are near as good. Maybe the body doesn't absorb them as well. I keep forgetting to ask my pharmacist to give me the capsules again and he has gotten intot he habit of dispensing the tablets to me after I made the fuss over my hearing aids staining. LOL I am going to have to get on the capsules again because I still have RMSF which doxy is the only thing that will treat it. I may ask the dr for a higher dose too. > > Doxy also comes in tablets forms and I find it is much easier on the > stomach. The capsules do me in, but I can handle the tabs. Guest guest
Make sure you eat with the Doxy, I avoided diary, multivit, stuff with Calcium and Magnesium at the time I took the Doxy. I took the other stuff at a different time. I also have started out slowly with stuff- taking one, then 2 a day and etc to see what would happen. You will be able eventually to tell the difference between herxing (killing off spiros) and a drug reaction. Hang in there and drink at least a gallon of water a day. Guest guest
Doxy is the hardest thing on my stomach I have ever taken. It makes my stomach ache. I hate it. I am supposed to be taking 300mg of it right now. I took one a while ago. I will spread it out over the day and make sure I don't go to bed right after taking any abx. Guest guest
That sore I can't believe it I had that type of thing happen. I love this site. I just told my, 11/05, LLMD about it the last time I saw him. I thought it was just not showering often enough. He grabbed the picture and ran to show it to his Dad. I had a picture of the sore as it was developing. It was right on where one of the bites had been. It itched like crazy and I would not scratch it as I was curious to see what was going on. It took a while. I was on Doxie. 1999. It finally broke open and there were these waxy egg shaped things. I brushed them away. I think it was this site that said the Doxie in brown stains your teeth. That it comes off with a good cleaning but it is one of the things that color does. Interesting the blue Doxie stains too. Another thing I believe and have not mentioned it to a Doctor yet. There is always so little time and so much to address. I mentioned it before but I have Psoriasis or Yeast depending on who you are talking to. Under my fingernails. It get real bad when I'm stressed. It was real bad in 1995 and I had to pick Lyme ticks off my dog who later got Lyme so bad I had to put her down. I know. But I had no money and I had spent $500 to do a procedure to remove grass she got caught in her wind pipe eating grass because she was sick. It wasn't a week before she had done it again. That is why I will not get anymore pets. I love animals but I can't afford to take care of one. So I haven't asked a Doctor yet but is it possible I got more infection from the blood under my fingernails from picking ticks off her. She had at least 50 ticks on her. This one Doctor I sent an E-mail to when it got to her address the spell check asked me if I wanted to change the word to flimflamed. Small pleasures. Guest guest
true. Pharmacodynamics. I just have to take what the dr. gave me. I keep my mind open and go from there. I saw my dr. one time. He cut to the chase. He said we have to start treating lyme now. Guest guest
Deanna, I was on 300MG per day for 2.5 months. I weigh 350lbs. After the Doxy I was switched to Ceftin. I have been on that for the past 9 months. I had success with both. Drink plenty of water. Guest guest
angela did you really take the test to determin the level of doxy in your blood?why would your doctor do that with such a low dose?something is not right about that statement and I would check to make sure that the facts are straight.....just looking out for you so let me know, as I was on 600mg and they did do the tests and my metabolism was very very slow but I was ok and there were no problems... eric william turner <silkwoodhounds@...> wrote: I was taking 100mg doxy twice a day, and on my blood test I had more in my system than people who were taking 600 mg. Guest guest
, I didn't post that I took a blood test to check doxy level. It appears posted that. I have never taken a blood test to determine levels on any med as no dr has ever even mentioned such. A family friend is a pharmacist and he told me same thing.
