Hi,

I was recently diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism, which is basically

the fact that my body makes too much PTH ( parathyroid hormone) and

cannot break down calcium to go into my bones, so it makes my Calcium

levels high in blood tests. The parathyroid glands are 4 small glands

behind the thyroid, which are supposed to regulate calcium and PTH

levels.

Well, as with many other parts of my body, mine doesn't function

normally, and I have to have surgery to have them removed. My

question is this: Does this have a relationship to my Lyme Disease.

Has anyone else experienced this Hyperparathyroid stuff along with

their lyme disease?? They share many of the sympotms, so I wonder

which symptoms are which?

I would appreciate any feedback on the topic. BEcause of course now

my family believes that it never was lyme and It's all this

parathyroid thing!!

I know that's not true, It's just frustrating having to constantly

convince people.

Thanks,

Lori
