Guest guest Posted April 22, 2007 Report Share Posted April 22, 2007 My LLMD recommended it - not specifically Dr, Zhang's, but artemisinin. I could not handle it. It gave me optical neuro symptoms which seem to be permanent. Buhner recommended that I try the whole herb - artemisia annua. Again, I had problems with it, though not as severe as with the artemisinin. For Babesia and Bartonella, I use Hu Zhang (polygonum cuspidatum, japanese knotweed), along with boneset tea and red root tea or tincture. They have almost completely alleviated my symptoms with no side effects. Others do well with artemisinin - not me. D. I had a lot of balance and coordination issues, as well as cognitive and psychiatric issues, which all are greatly improved, to the point of being in a normal range. Not what I had, but good. The thing that began with artemisinin was an area in the center of my vision that is full of little sparkles. The sparkles are like what you see on an LCD screen when it has bad pixels. It got a little better when I stopped the art, but it's still there, almost a year later. It really doesn't bother me. It's just kinda there. I see fine around it. D.
