Guest guest
Thanks, . This was very helpful! I, for example, didn't know that calcium & magnesium binds with Flagyl. I just started back on Flagyl, so I need to rearrange my supplement schedule. I've always heard that one should put 4 hours between supplements that interfere with each other (like calcium & iron). My LLMD said it could be an hour or two. I've stuck with 4 hours just to be safe. Does anybody know for usre? Guest guest
ai called my pharmacy and asked the fpharmacist if there was any problem with combining Ca & Mg. supplements at the same time when taking Ketek and Amox. The answer was NO. It doesn't negate the effects either way. She went to look it up. -- Lida > > I did some research and could not find info online about Ketek > binding with calcium. Guest guest
Lida; Thanks for calling a pharmacist on that. Thanks a lot. Guest guest
Jessie, I know what you mean. I feel like my life is centered now about what pill to take next and when to eat & what to eat and avoid eating. I'm not sure if it is accurate, but the pharmacist that did tell me about abx and calcium said two hours between. I have had stickers put on the bottles that also said 2 hrs. But then its hard to know what is opinion and what is proven fact. As I have heard from many patients that they were told to take probiotics 2 hrs after abx. But my LLMD has told me several times 1 hr either before of after abx. His nurses have reinterated the same info. I do know thyroid meds must have 4 hrs separation from calcium, iron or Vit C. So why its 4 hrs for that and only 2 hrs for abx and calcium I don't know. > > Thanks, . This was very helpful! I, for example, didn't know > that calcium & magnesium binds with Flagyl. Guest guest
I know it probably means I need to take it but I had such a violent reaction to Flagyl I had an Rx for 60 and I think I took it for like one week and got so sick I stopped. That was when I was IVing Rocephin and was getting such good results from it anyway. I had Migraine headaches for three years straight and was attending the University. Would you believe and I know you will. I was never offered pain medication. In fact I have had pain medication for only the last 8-01-2000. I went from 1985 and was almost put on total disability for Migraine headaches and never got a single pain med. I refused to ask for it. I am real strange like that. So I went from 1985 with severe Migraine on into 1991 when I got Late Stage Lyme, August 8, 2000, that is 15 years I suffered with unbelievable pain and never asked or was offered pain medication. I was always, by Dr's, described as a pleasant woman, I am having a I hate Dr's moment this morning. Looking much younger than her stated age. Don't you just love it. I just went to the potty and turned around to flush and my eye glass lens fell into the toilet. Fun. Now those new clothes could have bought me a new pair of glasses. But maybe with the new clothes I'll get out and go to the Eye Doctor and get my new Rx. I found spell check on this machine just a few days ago. It is great. I don't have to keep looking up words in the dictionary. I definitely need to take a pain pill I am about to jump out of my body I hurt so bad. I get four Hydrocodine a day, whether I need them or not. Tongue stuck to cheek, as I am hurting so bad it has been since 2:30 am I took the last one. Like I said it just takes the edge off of a very painful situation. When I run a spell check it is funny how creative I get with the spelling of words. That is why I love wordprocessing. You can bang out a letter and know you can check it for errors later. I loved wordperfect especially when they came out with grammer check. That was amazing. It amazes me how much pain a person can tolerate. It scares me when I hear about the Geneva convention and how we can torture people and our kids who go into the military and are taught to torture people for information and they learn how to do it and do it because the law says they can. Scary. I was watching TV last night and I love that show where the woman has powers where she dreams about murders and solves. Dr Murray would be raving about this. Anyway last night was really scary. She was being posses by a serial killer and kept dreaming she was the killer. It was scary. I love being scared as long as I know it is just a movie and it will end. Boy It sure is easy to jabber away on these machines. wtptoo <wtptoo@...> wrote: Jessie, I know what you mean. Guest guest
, I research Flagyl & calcium and couldn't find anything that told me they shouldn't be taken together, with the possible exception that Flagyl might interfere with the absorption of vitamin K, which can lead to brittle bones. I take thyroid meds and I hadn't heard the 4-hour rule for Ca, Fe, & C. I take them at least an hour before I eat, but now I'm thinking that I need to review all my meds and supplements. By the way, I keep track of my meds & supplements in a spreadsheet. It includes the amount, the med or supplement, why I'm taking it, and when I'm taking it. I add the when after I was prescribed something that threw off everything else and I had to juggle a bunch of stuff. I make prescriptions bold to make it easier them easier to find. If anyone would like a sample of my spreadsheet, let me know off list and I'll send it to you. Jessie > > > > Thanks, . This was very helpful! Guest guest
See right there is a very good reason why I need a printer on this computer. I don't know how to use or install it. I know, pay someone to do it. I don't have that kind of money. I am on disability and it is a very small amount. Thus the major guilt about the clothes purchase. Put on a credit card that will be 30% starting this year. I use a Steno note pad and use it for everything then spend half my life trying to read my own writing. This is all said in jest. I am really not stupid. But I don't like trying to do things on this computer when I know nothing about the systems. I get stuck and I hurt too much to deal with it. I've had E-mail for going on three years and just found the spell check. Give me a break.
