Lyme/Parkinson's

Hi Anne!

From the movie " Under Our Skin " and from my research and treatment, it would

seem that Parkinson's is really just another manifestation of Lyme, and that the

Lyme needs to be brought under control in order to heal the

Parkinson's symptoms.  That being said, what most people think of as " Lyme " is

not just Lyme.  It also includes several other coinfections consisting of

different types of microbes (such as protozoans, for example) that the

antibiotics used to treat Lyme will not kill, and which can be even more

debilitating than Lyme itself.  Unfortunately, just as most doctors are clueless

about Lyme, most doctors and even some " Lyme-literate " doctors are even

more clueless about coinfections.  You really should look into whether he has

any coinfections that also need to be treated.  Some of the more typical ones

include Bartonella, Babesia, Ehrlichia, Q Fever, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever,

etc.  I don't know where you live, but if you

live in (or are able/willing to travel to) the PA/DE/NJ area, I know of a

doctor who can help if you would like to e-mail me privately.  Otherwise, you

can contact the LDA or ILADS to try to find a doctor in your area who is

knowledgeable about Lyme and coinfections.  I wish you and your family the best

of luck!
