Where to go after 9 weeks of Doxy?

I realize this is a question with no blanket answer, but until I get into see an

LLMD I am still trying to get a jump on treatment as best I can through my

current ND.

So far I've been on Doxy about 7 weeks. Surprisingly I have seen some little

improvements here and there. The whole first month I spent herxing though, so

aside from that there hasn't been a whole lot of time to tell what's going on.

Per Dr. Burrascano's protocols it looks like combination therapy for 4-6 months

*minimum* is required (and it looks like even *years* can be typical), so even

if I am doing better by 9 weeks (which is when I run out of Doxy) I do not want

to stop abx treatment quite yet, especially if I am still symptomatic, and

especially with the holidays approaching.

So my question is this: Should I ask my doctor for another couple months of

Doxy, or would now be a good time to switch the type of abx I am on? I've got it

narrowed down to a couple in Dr. B's protocols that I think might be good:

Flagyl, Biaxin, or one other one I can't think of at this point.

Knowing that Doxy is a good firs-t line drug, but is not enough on its own, but

also knowing that I am not having any real bad side-effects of this drug, I'm

not sure I want to switch to an unknown at this time either...

What would you do? I will probably just tell the doctor I am still symptomatic,

and see what she suggests, but I want to be prepared to counter her if necessary

as she does not have much experience in this area. I wanted to get people's

opinions here first bc in my experience patient experience is so valuable (we

know 1st-hand!). Thanks for your time and for any suggestions.
