Guest guest
MKK,  I'm interested in others comments as well as this is also an important topic with me. I asked my LLMD who said kissing and sexual contact does not spread Lyme's. He offered as a reference that in his years of treating people rarely does he treat spouses. I contracted Lymes in September an got on abx within a month. Throughout that time I have been active with my Girlfriend and she has not come down with Lymes. From: marlajones@... <marlajones@...> Subject: [ ] Lyme spread by kissing? Date: Saturday, December 12, 2009, 12:43 AM  Hello, does anyone know if it is true that Lyme can be spread by kissing? I know it can be spread as an STD. I don't want to foist this terrible disease on anyone else! I am on antibiotic treatment. Thanks. -MKK
Guest guest
My LLMD says that 30% of his practice involves both spouses. Maureen
Guest guest
Athough there's no way of knowing if that's through contact with each other, or the fact that they've lived in the same places for a long time. My whole family has been tested. My son has it. My husband and daughter don't. It's not clear if my son got it in utero, or on the ranch we used to live on (in the same mountains where I'd been bitten a decade earlier), or later on when he was running feral on some land we owned just a few lots over from Phyllis, in California's Lyme Ground Zero. Guest guest
I do not know - and I am not sure the mecial community even knows how easily this can be passed, but I do know many family memebers end up with it....seems like it is probably passed easier than we realize. > > Hello, does anyone know if it is true that Lyme can be spread by kissing? > > I know it can be spread as an STD. > > I don't want to foist this terrible disease on anyone else! > > I am on antibiotic treatment. > > Thanks. > > -MKK > > >
Guest guest
I think it would stand to reason that Lyme can be spread through bodily fluids, much like its cous in, Syphillis. I asked my LLMD about the possibility and she strongly recommended using a condom. I don't know that there is proof positive evidence one way or the other, but why chance it? I need my husband to stay healthy for my bad days :-) > > > > Hello, does anyone know if it is true that Lyme can be spread by kissing? > > > > I know it can be spread as an STD. > > > > I don't want to foist this terrible disease on anyone else! > > > > I am on antibiotic treatment. > > > > Thanks. > > > > -MKK > > > > > >

Guest guest
There's a Lyme map of California floating around (it's probably from CALDA) that shows where cases have been concentrated. And the densest part of the whole map is a little patch in the hills of Mendocino County, just north of Ukiah. We used to have some acreage right in the middle of that patch. Guest guest
Thanks, Sara. I looked on CALDA and didn't see a map like that. I have heard Mendocino County is really bad, though. Guest guest
One LLMD told me that through research, spirochetes have been found in semen, supporting the theory that Lyme can be passed through sexual contact. She told me that in order to eradicate my lyme, my husband would have to get tested/treated also. He has not been tested yet. If he is positive, it has not reared its ugly head yet, and we both feel that he cannot afford to get sick with the start of treatment. He is holding the rest of the family together right now, with myself and two kids sick with lyme. But if I cannot get rid of it without him getting treated, well, it's a double edged sword. Guest guest
Yes. Very close by -- just 30 miles away. Willits is the next major town north of Ukiah on US 101. Guest guest
The study at the link below shows evidence that Lyme can be transmitted casually. We need more research in this area to stem this real pandemic. Our attention is being diverted by fake swine flu pandemics...SARS, WNV....Bird Flu propaganda...etc  http://lymesentinel.blogspot.com/2009/12/lyme-disease-study-shows-evidence-of.ht\ ml Marjorie Tietjen www.LymeSentinel.blogspot.com  HERBS FOR LYME and GENERAL HEALTH http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?af=1097153   From: darabeth2003 <dara.alewine@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Lyme spread by kissing?
