Guest guest
Hi: I'm taking 6,000 mg. of Amoxycillin...about 2 weeks into a 4 week prescription. I recently added Samento capsules (600 mg. 3x/day) to the protocol. I gotta admit that I feel much worse. But as we all know: With Lyme, sometimes you feel worse when you're actually getting better. Or so it seems. I'm having more tingling in my extremities; some painful tingling in my legs. And I'm not sleeping well at all. And I'm pretty depressed. I've read that herxing isn't a requirement, so am I doing too much by adding the Samento? How can you tell the diff between Lyme symptoms and herxing? I feel like poo. To answer your question about a herx vs lyme symptoms, I would say you need to look at when you added a med/supplement in. It sounds like to me you are having more herxing since adding in the Samento. ly, unless a doc told you to do take it. And if it was me, I would drop the Samento. And if a doc recommended the Samento, then you want to check with him about this. ly, I am a whimp. So I am not one of those people that tough out a herx. So the symptoms you listed: tingling, pain, insomnia, and depression would be enough for me to stop the Samento but that is just me. Guest guest
Hi : Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts. My instincts told me to stop the Samento also. And I feel a LOT better. And I do feel improved on the amoxycillin, so I'm just gonna finish my prescription and go back to the LLMD and see what he says. My holistic MD/acupuncturist recommended something for detox that I actually did do this weekend...a coffee enema. I never thought I'd do something like that, but it was such NOT a big deal in the end (no pun intended). I think there's something to them. Guest guest
Hi Bree: After 3 years of being poorly diagnosed and treated for lyme, I found an amazing LLMD in CA. The first thing she did was test for co-infections and viruses. Bingo! I had 3 co-infections, one of them, Babesia, was diagnosed based on my symptoms history. I was treated first with abx and artemisinin for Babesia and than abx for Bartenella, both with great success. After I finished treatment for the co's I was treated with supplements & IV infusions of 500 grams vit C, Mag, Glutathione and B-12 for hhv-6 virus. I tried anti-virals prescription medicine with no success. The Infusions worked! I am currently doing pulsing abx. Down from 2 weeks on abx-2 weeks off, to 1 week on 3 weeks off. I still get infusions every other week. Whatever route of treatment you choose to do, I want to encourage you to first and foremost seek a lyme literate MD who treats with both abx and/or homeopathic supps & and be tested & evaluated for co-infections! NOTHING worked for me until the co-infections were diagnosed and were treated properly. Yes, the herxes were intense! So many times I wanted to give up. Hang in there Bree, press through the pain and discomfort of treatment, and God willing on the other side you will find your life again. > > > > > > Hi: > > > > > > I'm taking 6,000 mg. of Amoxycillin...about 2 weeks into a 4 week > > > prescription.
