Guest guest
Fluconazole 50 mg once daily ( Diflucan, Pfizer) for 2-4 wks will eradicate fungus. Topical agents will not work on the nailbed. You should not be on any anticoagulant or antiepileptic medication. Monitor your AST/ALT every week, there may be a transient rise but its reversible and of no harm.

Guest guest
Things for good gut flora like acidophilous help neutralize; they wouldn't cause more constipation. I am interested by Katheryn's comments. A recent alternative medicine doctor told me " You must have Candida if you have been taking Doxy for 6 months. " But I have no symptoms (including GI). Well, I just relented to a Candida test, so we will know soon enough. I only did so because I have constant sinus inflamation and there is a small chance that yeast could cause it and nothing else. Are alternative medicine doctors over the top with this Candida thing, or is it a real problem in most of us? Guest guest
Hi , http://www.nutritionfocus.com has a small database with references and acidophilus is there. Their search engine is at the bottom of the page. From that page, " ACTIONS Antibacterial (acidophilus produces antibacterial substances: lactic acid, acetic acid, benzoic acid, hydrogen peroxide, acidolin, lactocidin and acidophilin)1,2,3, anticancer, antifungal, antihypercholesterolemic, antiulcer, digestive aid, enhances the absorption of nutrients, inhibits the growth of vaginal bacteria including: Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, Gardnerella vaginalis4,5, helps maintain normal bacteria balance in lower intestines, kills monilia, yeast or fungus on contact. " I have used several types of supplements for yeast, and only one has caused constipation for me (Bacillus Laterosporus BOD). This has been resolved for me, and I like it - but you might want to avoid it for now. I believe my problems with constipation with this one improved when I started feeling good enough to walk nearly every day (average 7 miles). Otherwise, Candida Capsules (**722) - made from castor bean oil, seems to help me quite a bit. I got that from The Modern Herbalist http://www.modernherbalist.com/products/sf-722.html I also manage a lot better if I keep away from foods that yeast likes, sugars, fruits, refined carbs, anything fermented (vinegar, alcohol). I think there is more. If it's in your gut, have you tried eating onions? A plate of sauteed onion isn't so bad :-) I have wondered sometimes if I've experienced a yeast die-off after an onion meal. There is a lot of stuff at http://www.candidapage.com/ As usual, you have to sort through opinions, but you might find some of it useful. Guest guest
Hi Cindi, I've wondered the same thing, about Candida being blamed for a wide assortment of things. It may be at fault for many, but it's easy for people to throw opinions around. I have had many problems with sinus infections, and I also have had problems with Candida, but it's interesting that my sinuses have been much better in general since starting abx. Chlamydia may cause sinus infections... http://www.4women.gov/x/owh/pr/15Mar001.htm " In the March 15 issue of " Nucleic Acids Research " , scientists from the United States and Canada report the complete DNA sequences of strains of " Chlamydia trachomatis " and " C. pneumoniae " (1). Both species live inside host cells, a property that distinguishes them from most other bacteria, but they differ from each other in the diseases they cause. " C. trachomatis " causes trachoma, a preventable form of blindness in infants, and infections of the genital tract in adults. " C. pneumoniae " causes pneumonia, bronchitis and, more rarely, sore throats and sinus infections. This microbe has also received increased attention because of reports suggesting it might be linked to cardiovascular disease. Limited studies also suggest a possible role for " C. pneumoniae " in other chronic disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, arthritis and asthma, but more research is needed in these areas. Guest guest
, I'm in the same boat. I suspect elavil, which I took for my sleep problem, added to the constipation. After a number of years on it, I read that it affects the peristaltic action of the colon and causes constipation. But the final blow came with 4 months of doxycyclene. I have yeast in the gut and have found that the acidophillus does not increase the constipation. If you figure this out please tell me. I feel so toxic, and if you have any other ideas about how you are working with this I would love to know. Thanks, >I have intestinal yeast. Guest guest
I didn't have a problem with constipation until I started taking the SF-722 by Thorne. But think I have killed all the yeast in my intestines using other products like diflucan. I stopped taking the SF-722 and am currently just trying to control with diet. Aloe is a good natual laxative. My doctor had me drinking a little of this every day while I was doing my yeast cleanse and it seemed to help. You can get the liquid form at health food stores; I mixed it with clorella and apple juice and it tasted pretty good. Good luck - Jennie --- lbinujrsy@... wrote: > I have intestinal yeast. Guest guest
>>Could you please explain the difference between brewer's and baker's yeast ? Thanks in advance, Rose<< There are hundreds (thousands?) of yeast types, like any fungus. Some people take brewer's yeast nutritionally, and it's often in health supplements. I think Vitamin B is one that is usually in a brewer's yeast base. Brewer's yeast is probably a particular strain of yeast types that are used in fermenting beer and wine bases. I've made thousands of gallons of beer and wine et al and never once used " brewer's yeast " although it would have worked to some extent. Baker's yeast is a different strain that works best in the leavening of breads. It withstands a slightly higher temperature than brewer's yeast. That is, it continues to work(grow) in the oven for a short while. For ER4YT and LR4YT, a yeast would have to be specific to determine it's status. If brewer's yeast was okay, I couldn't arbitrarily substiute some of my home beer or wine making yeast. You can buy either of those yeasts in packets or sachets and in jars. Guest guest
which homeopathic remedies yeast it isnt a yeast infection we got its a sensitivity our body has to yeast. Everyone has yeast. Especially the people who live in florida have more yeast due to the hot and humid climate. But once you get sensitive to yeast thats when the troubles and symptoms begin. That whole candida theory is bull $* & % candida only grows in people with immune problems, and it does not cause that many symptoms, as it does to us. It is not the toxins that cause the die off it is the yeast proteins that are immune system attacks that cause the problem and make our moths dry... They key to overcoming this problem is to desensitize against this candida, try homeopathic solutions 6x recomended, go to an allergist to see if you got any mold allergies that are may cross react with the albicans protein causing these symptoms. This is not an infection its more of a immune dysfuntion. take large amounts of Vitamin C, Coconut oil (antifungal), lactobacillus, and other immune regulating herbs and your symptoms will decrease. Stop gulping bentonite too, that dosnt help this problem one bit. Thank you
Guest guest
I definitely do not agree. Candida is absolutely a disease the same way Epstein-Barr is a REAL disease. Do not minimize what we are going through. I have had allergy treatments on and off for the past few years. It's not an allergy. Also, why, all of a sudden would I have immune problems when before I didn't? Sorry, doesn't make sense. >it isnt a yeast infection we got its a sensitivity our body has to yeast. Everyone has yeast.
