Hello all. New to group but not to LD. I have been seeing a

wonderful LLD for several years. He is a GP but is obsessed with LD

(is also afflicted with LD and assorted co-infections). He is

friendly with several of the big names in research (Fallon,

Burrascano, etc.) so I trust that he is current on treatments, etc.

Here is the problem....He is associated with our local hospital

who recently forbade him from treating his over 150 LD patients from

3 states. Their reasoning is vague but I suspect that they are not

getting paid by insurance co's as Dr. is not an infectious disease

specialist and many patients are from out of state and not being

covered to see a GP out of their state. This is funny because the

hospital was actively promoting him as a LD expert for a long time.

Dr. then opens his own clinic, one day a week (in addition to his

normal hours at hospital sattellite center)as he feels he can not

leave all of us hanging. Now he has told several of us (in

confidence) that the hospital will not be covering his malpractice

ins. if he continues with the LD clinic. He has a quandry with

this.....MI is very expensive and could possibly deplete his

savings, he has only a few years left to receive his retirement

package from hospital vs. his belief that LD is a crippling illness

that is NOT cured by 60 days of abx. As such, I suspect that he

will be forced out of the clinic by the hospital. I can't say that

I blame him. He has really gone out on a limb for us as it is.

If this office closes, I have no idea where to go. I am originally

from Long Island (actually lived in the same town as Dr. Burrascano)

and had planned on going to him (as I have places to stay there) but

just found that he has retired to battle his cancer. Does anyone

have recommendations for LLD's in the VA, MD area?? Thanks in

advance!
