I dont know much about it, but I know of others who react to it as well, and I

have also heard it is processed using/and contains CHLORINE! I cant stand the

taste of sweeteners either, but I am starting to think that good old fashioned

sugar is best if I MUST sweeten something.

Kim,

I cannot use Splenda in any way shape or form.

To sweeten anything I use Stevia - it's a natural herb that is sweeter than

sugar. Google for it - you can buy it in a health food store.

As for " soft drinks " when I indulge - I use the regular.

The chemicals used in the " artificial sweetners " have always caused me huge

problems and even if it starts out as sugar, the changes in it makes it

toxic.

Hi Kim,

I don't know if the Splenda would cause those symptoms but that is the WORST

stuff! None of the artificial sweeteners are good for you but definitely stop

using Splenda. I got an email recently, & had in the past, that Splenda has

chlorine? in it or something pretty bad.

Also, the article talked about the cruelty to dogs while using them to

experiment with it; it was sickening! After my daughter read it, she was finally

gave it up & was on a crusade to get others to stop using it too, esp now that

she has a puppy.

Stevia is from the health food store & highly recommended. I did buy her the

Stevia but she really couldn't stand the taste. All the girls in my family have

to stay away for the sugar to keep their weight down (that darn Italian blood!

haha) but I buy Sugar Twin for her. It is saccharin which isn't good either but

I wanted to stay away from the Aspartame too. Also, Splenda is very expensive

compared to the other artificial sweeteners.

It is boring I know, but try to drink plain water as much as possible or at

least cut back on the artificial sweetener. The sugar isn't good for Lyme or

immune systems either so it is no win, now win! I hope the pain subsides or at

least lessons for you. I can tell you all this cold, damp weather doesn't help

all the aches & pains; it is the worst weather for me, even as far as the

fatigue goes too!!

Feel better,

Jeannie

Hi Jeannie,

Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Thanks for the info. I had gone for so long without

any sweetener...just drinking water...that I was so

thrilled when Splenda came out. I am very sensitive to

Aspartame....but I just noticed recently that I had

been drinking a lot of the Fruit20 that has Splenda in

it and using it in coffee. I have been off it for 2

days and I feel better already!!!!!! Scary!!!

Love,

Kim

Hi Kim,

Yeah water gets pretty boring esp with all the other diet restrictions too!

While my family all sampled all kinds of wine & such over the holidays (my Dad

even makes homemade wine), I pretty much stuck to water!!

But it is truly Christmas to hear you are feeling better!! Keep it up...:)

Love,

Jeannie

Jeannie,

Celestial Seasons has a powder out now that you can add to water to

flavor it called " zingers to go " . Its sweetened with stevia, which is

natural. They're pretty good. I don't know what your dietary

restrictions are, but its something to look into.
