,

I am not on Dr. Zhang's protocol except I do take his bulk Olive herb for

viral load. I am, however, currently seeing a Chinese doctor who

specialized in infectious diseases in China. He prescribes for me a bag of

mixed herbs to take daily. Most all of the herbs are the same as Dr.

Zhang's.

I had my enzymes checked after 4 months on the herbs and although my alt and

ast were on the high end of normal (in the low 40's) they did go down into

the low teens and stayed there.

Some of the benefits of the herbs is that I am no longer tired, anxious, nor

do I feel as fuzzy brained, or dizzy. Recently, I had moved and stopped

taking the herbs for 2 months, and all of my symptoms reappeared. I am now

resuming the protocol, and it is amazing how much better I feel.

I am so glad you are considering trying Dr. Zhang's protocol. I sense he is

a very kind man and truly wants to help us.

Dear Mike,

Thanks for the list of herbs, I was wondering, do you take any

Vitamin C ? and do you know if Vitamin C is good to take (is it safe for

diseased livers) I heard it has a detoxifying effect on the body, so I was

thinking it might be good.

Best wishes for a good

day, God Bless, Sue

Dear Sue,

i have also been concerned about vitamn c, from what I understand, the danger

is increased iron uptake --which is damaging to the compromised liver. You

can request an iron uptake/ferritin(?) test to measure this. I was having IV

vitamin c and high oral doses with no problem, but it is an individual

thing. There is no doubt in my Mind that Vit c is an immune booster, etc.

Good luck!

Kay

I now take the ascorbic acid form, crystals in water with a little stevia, be

careful though as it can eat away the enamel on your teeth, brush or at least

rinse with plain water after---or drink it through a straw.

I am and have been since April 2000. I posted a while back and mentioned it

to you. I exchanged many emails with dr zhang in the beginning. He always

answers your questions too. I have even spoken to him on the phone in the

beginning. I felt the difference within a week. I could eat many foods

without getting nausious anymore. My energy level started increasing after

a month and continued to do so. My blood work improved also. I monitored

it every three months at first, now I am waiting 6 months this time (due in

sept). I have added his olive leaf caps for the viral load as I could not

drink the the brew..............too bitter no matter what I mixed it with.

Since liver cells live 18 mos, he advises a full two years to replace

damaged ones. I am on the maintenance protocol and can stay on it

indefinitely if I desire, use just like a supplement. I visit his site

regularly, especially the ask a question part.

hey sue,Its ok as far as I know ,just as long as you dont over do it .Even to much vitamin c is not good for the liver. It can only use what it needs ,the rest it has to get rid of,.....now thats just what I,ve read,I;ll as the doc about it when I go back ,,oh yea I forgot to mention I also take chromium picolinate 400........It helps the liver considerably when breaking down sugars and carbohydrates..... talk to ya later MIKE
