Guest guest
So, in other words, are you saying that anyone who would have to travel shouldn't support Dr. at the Hearing but should just send money instead? I see the importance of financially supporting Dr. but this seems to be sending a mixed message to everyone....just like last time. A friend specifically spoke to a lawyer friend he knows asking him how important it is for a large respectful crowd to show up for the Hearing of someone you believe in . He said It sends a VERY strong message. I think we should all try to attend the hearing and then worry about supporting Dr. later. We can still have tag sales and other fundraising activities even if we do attend the Hearing. There should have been many more at the last 2 Hearings. Something is not right. I was waiting to see if there would be another angle used this time to keep people away. I hope this isn't one of them. I think that many times people do not intentionally try to sabotage things but I think often people are led to believe ( even the person on trial) that certain actions or lack of action are for the good of whoever or whatever is involved when in reality the diversion is so subtle that it seems to be used for " good " . I'm not saying that a nefarious tactic is being used here but let's think hard about this before Dr. ends up with another third of a courtroom . It should be overflowing...bursting at the seams. They will make room for us. Just tell them to expect a big crowd. The last hearing was held in the legislative office building with plenty of empty rooms. I don't understand this. Our first Hearing that we had concerning Lyme Disease in CT....had full rooms....and overflowing. Nobody complained. There was no problem. It was the most moving Hearing with whole families testifying...down to a seven year old that broke my heart when he told the Hearing panel that his brain felt sticky and he couldn't think. I realize this is not the same type of Hearing but we need to show a silent swell of support . Take one day at a time and after the Hearing...begin another fundraising campaign. If this is another small turnout.....I am going to personally go up to the panel afterwards and ask what does and doesn't make an impression on them. Are they moved when a very large crowd supports the person on trial? Margie T " Kay L. IMPORTANT!!!! Dr. requests that anyone planning to spend money on travel and hotels to attend his hearing, instead, donate the expenses to his defense fund. We MUST organize NATIONALLY to raise funds for Dr. ' defense! Please consider holding a fundraiser and donating the proceeds to Dr. ' defense fund. Guest guest
Margie, How are you doing? I hope your doing well. No this is not a tactic to confuse anyone. This is simply a plea from Dr. for funds for his legal defense. Dr. lives a very simple life often working 6 and 7 days a week to treat our kids with Lyme. He has spent his own money to pay for treatments of " his kids " . He truely has a calling in life to help our kids. From my experience with Dr. (he has treated my son) and what I know of his financial situation it is simply his way of saying that he does appreciate everyone being there and needs everyone that can be there to be there, but at this time his legal funds are depleted and he is concerned that he will not be able to pay for the continued support of his defense. That statement should not confuse anyone. At the rally in Connecticut a couple of weeks back Dr. broke down in tears as he decribed his appreciation of everyones support. He was very worried about his ability to pay for his defense. This statement is his way of saying that the most important thing for him (and us) is for him to raise the funds for him to continue his defense. I'm making a personal plea for money to fund the defense fund for the Dr. that saved my son from progressing to a worse condition. He needs our money (if we are in a position to donate) AND he needs our physical support at the trial as well as our Prayers to allow him to continue to help our kids with Lyme. If it is reasonable and possible for you to attend your presence would help our cause. Let's all unite and rally around a man who many in the Lyme community believe to be pure of heart which he has proved by treating over 8000 of our kids with Lyme. Please email me directly if any further clarification is necessary. I will do my best. Guest guest
Margie...This is Dr. request , " that anyone planning to spend money on travel and hotels to attend his hearing, instead, donate the expenses to his defense fund. " This does not mean that he doesn't need people to attend his hearing. He DOES! What he is saying is, IF people have to choose between attending his hearing or contributing to his Defense Fund , then contribute. He will not have the funds to keep his defense team after this next hearing without contributions. I realize this may seem to be sending a mixed message but, the fact is, without funds there is no defense team after June 22nd. If people can do both that's great! If they can't, then a donation would be more beneficial. I too, agree that the room should be overflowing, and hope it will be this time. There are enough people within driving distance that owe their lives and their families lives to this wonderful man. We should be able to accomplish both, attendance AND funds! Guest guest
Hello everyone. I'm sorry to have come across the way I did. I wasn't meaning to accuse anyone or to send the message not to support Dr. . I was just confused because first paragraph in the message said to come to the Hearing but then it said Most Important was to finance the trial instead of attending the Hearing. Right away my mind clicked back to what seemed like efforts to keep people away from the last Hearing. I also wasn't pointing a finger at the message sender but was trying to say ....I guess I wasn't as subtle as I thought....that sometimes even the person we are all rallying for may be influenced by certain people sometimes. I'm not saying that Dr. didn't say what he did and I'm not saying not to send him money. I guess I just wanted people to do what they thought was right and that's what Kay was really saying anyway. I had spoken to someone else about this and they said I should write and ask for clarification. I'm sorry I did it in a way that caused any grief because that wasn't my intention. Guest guest
Margie, Don't feel bad, this is a very confusing situation. I think it is important for each of us to do what we feel in our hearts we need to do. Some will want to be at the hearing despite any costs to see and hear for themselves what is happening. Others will feel like giving money instead of paying for a hotel room. Both approaches are the correct thing to do. As with Lyme treatment, we are unique individuals and we need to support our doctors in whatever way is going to make us feel better about the situation. I don't believe any grief was caused at all. =) Robynn Re: [ ] Fundraising for Dr. Hello everyone. I'm sorry to have come across the way I did.
