Guest guest
Any LLMD worth his weight in salt will tell you 6 months is not enough time to treat the Lyme/co-infections. Stick with what is working, which is your IM bicillin. Because of the life cycle of this bacteria, how it changes shapes to survive, it takes time to kill this stuff off. I strongly do not recommend IV because I nearly lost my life due to an infection. The doctors tell you it is not that common, but the research I did after I survived proved otherwise. Besides, because of the lifecycle, IV does not kill the bacteria any quicker than the orals/shots. To learn about the lifecycle of this bacteria go to: http://www.canlyme.com/tom.html<http://www.canlyme.com/tom.html> This is Tom Grier's, The Complexities of Lyme , also you can go to our site at: www.lifelyme.org<http://www.lifelyme.org/> , and click on educational basics. I do not know when I " got " Lyme but about 20 months ago I came down with a extremely high fever, muscle aches and was totally wiped out in bed for three days. The worst part was my teeth. They hurt so bad I laid in a ball on my bed and cried. I almost couldn't stand it. I went downhill from that point, developing sever stomach pain and eventually interstitial cystitis. My teeth initially got better after that whole fever episode. I have been on IM bicillin for 6 months and am feeling better. I tried going off of it and after three weeks the pain in my jaw and my teeth was almost as bad as when I had the fever 20 months ago. That wasn't the only thing that was hurting either! I went back on the bicillin injections and the pain has gotten better, but I feel like I am " covering up " the problem, not fixing it. Are you still on antibiotics or have you stopped them? I cannot tolerate oral antibiotics because of my stomach and esophogus, but have been approved by insurance for IV antibiotics. I am not sure what approach I am going to take. Thanks for your input!
