Can someone explain my Lyme lab tests?

My family doctor diagnosed me with Lyme and I am taking 500mg

amoxicillan 4 times a day for 60 days. I have been having muscle and

bone aches, more headaches, fatigue, and pain in my feet and ankles,

plus week long bouts of fever and chills for months. This is what

sent me to my doctor. I was shocked about the Lyme disease. Altho I

do alot of outdoor things, I never recall having a tick bite.

My question is, I asked for copies of my labwork and I dont

understand the criteria for the positive diagnoses. It was the Lyme

antibody Western Blot. Heres what the lab slip says: (forgive me that

this is so long)

LYME AB IGG,

WESTERN BLOT negative 2

INTERP

P93 AB absent

P66 AB PRESENT*

P58 AB PRESENT*

P45 AB absent

P41 AB PRESENT*

P39 AB PRESENT*

P30 AB absent

P28 AB absent

P23 AB absent

P18 AB absent

LYME AB IGM,

WESTERN BLOT negative 3

INTERP

It goes on to say at the bottom that a positive is 5 of the following

bands:18,23,28,30,39,41,45,58,66 and 93 (I have 4 of them)

Further down it says a positive is 2 of the following 3: 23,39 and

41, which I do have 2 of.

I am just so confused. Is this amoxicillan enough to wipe it outta my

system. I'm scared of further complications. I'm tired of hurting.

Thanx, Kath

Your results are statistically very improbable in a person with no

exposure to LD, even if they don't meet the CDC surveillance criteria.

I would read them as positive. You might want to request a C6 test as

well, if you can afford it, just for the peace of mind. I would

suggest you request a follow up round of Doxycycline or Minocycline,

if you can tolerate it, as Amoxicillan is not very effective against

some of the possible co-infections, that often accompany a tick bite.

cheers
