Guest guest
Hi peggy I am new here too. I wasdiagnosed with hep c in Feb of 99 but have most likely had it for 20-30 years. My initial viral load was 5 million and my liver is not too bad...level 2 inflammation and level 1 fibrosis. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 10 years ago but now I wonder if it is really the hep c...maybe it doesn't matter as long as I can find ways tomanage the symptoms. I'm soory to hear about your cirrhosis and wish you well with the combo. It has been so helpful to me to have other heppers to talk with...no one else understands quite as well what this disease is like. So we can walk this journey with friends at least. Glad we are both here! Hepper hugs, Mesa ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Guest guest
Hi , If its any consolation, I know exactly how you feel. My son is scheduled for his 4th surgery in Dec. His third surgery was also successful at restoring his hearing in the beginning but 4 weeks later he yawned, felt his eardrum pop, and its been downhill ever since. Its very hard for us moms not to be able to fix things for them but just hang in there. Are you seeing an otologist? I learned from this group that this is a must. My very best to you and your son. Guest guest
G,day Just thought I would let you know my son Nick has had several operations to remove reoccuring c-toma. His ontologist and neurosurgeon usually perform the operations in winter/spring as they feel summer being so hot will increase the risk of infection. Debbie. first time here Hi, My son is ten years old and has just had another surgery. His 5th! His last surgery was done in order to rebuild his whole inner ear. At that point he had achieved 100% hearing back. We were thrilled. Since then the doctor noticed his hearing going down until just recently when it was discovered that there was total hearing loss. The doctor thought maybe something in the ear needed to be reconnected, so another surgery was performed on 9/30. When we spoke to the doctor after the surgery he discovered that the cholesteatoma had grown back! We are so upset about this, my son has been through so much. the doctor said that in all his years, he has never seen it come back a third time. I guess I was just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences. My son has already had 5 surgeries, not including two for tubes when he was younger. Any information I can gather would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi and I am reading this 3+ weeks later.. are you still on the mend? I have had some times, too, when I thought "hey, maybe I am getting better" but they didn't last. So, I hope they last for you! williamskm@... wrote: Hello Everyone This is my first time here and I just wanted to introduce myself. This past May I did something really stupid...I clapped my hands to make my cat stop scratching on the couch and I ruptured the disk at C3-C4!!! I suffered through 3 months of physical therapy including TENS, ultrasound, stretching, heat, ice, and traction. Nothing helped. THere were times I couldn't turn my head. In August went back to the doctor and had C-Spine X rays which were negative. Still having pain so had MRI that showed a small discophyte at level C3-C4 with moderate encroachment on the right. Had a surgical consult in October. Surgeon said he would do surgery but wanted me to go to a pain clinic to see about a cortisone injection. I have that appointment next week. The surgeon wouldn't do the injection himself because he said there is an increased risk of stroke!!! at that level. In the past week, the pain and muscle spasms have decreased. I still have headaches but not as severe as they have been. Do ruptures ever get better on their own? Could it be I am healing and won't need the surgery? Or maybe we have better days and worse days and I am lucky enough to have a string of better days? KIm
