Hey,

I was diagnosed in Feb. of this year and started immediately on IV Rocephin, and

in June they started me on Zithromax and Flagyl in pill form. That's only the

antibotics; I am on MANY other things just to manage symptoms. Does anybody

have any ideas on how to stop the constant severe pain that is in every muscle,

bone and joint in my body???? I have tried just about everything, and keep

becoming immune to all of the pain meds. My doctor (former doctor) has

suggested methadone or an epidural pump to control the pain, but both of those

options scare the hell out of me!

Lori,

You sure remind me of me with the severe pain. Why I don't know. It moved

through me overnight I've tried many things. Different pills, ice pack when

arms act up, the muscles and joints. I'm so glad someone wants to help you

with the pain. Mine is in feet, back (lower) and hip area now knees, hands at

times and fingers and toes. I did find out recently I have narrowing of spine

at base and a buldging disk. Those things, however did not start out the

severe migratory pain I experienced in 1986-pain that moved through my feet

upward-very severe almost bed bound, nightly sweats so bad I had to change

night

gown once or twice a night. Swelling at base of neck. With time and

antibiotics I improved. Still not where I want to be but boy can I relate to

the pain.

Some seem to have severe pain others not so bad. You may have to try things

yourself and see what helps.

I never thought I'd need anything other than asprin in my life sigh now it's

not that way and hasn't been for quite awhile.

Best of luck to you Lori,

HI Lori,

Sorry, but it just takes time.....my first 3 years were awful, but the

zithromax did begin finally to help the pain and I use Slow Mag for a lot

of the muscle cramps and pain. Healing lyme is very slow, but don't give

up, I get my Slow mag at walmart.......only $10, and $15 everywhere else.

Be sure and get some rest each day, keep a log of your symptoms. You will

have some " comfort times " They will be few in the beginning, but will get

better. Try ice, heat, sometimes for me, plain aspirin or ibuprophen worked

better than Demerol.

My teeth hurt so bad I asked the dentist to pull them all........he said no.

i tried plain cheap aspirin and it worked.......go figure.

hugs ,

I am somewhat new to the group. I do not know when I " got " Lyme but

about 20 months ago I came down with a extremely high fever, muscle

aches and was totally wiped out in bed for three days. The worst

part was my teeth. They hurt so bad I laid in a ball on my bed and

cried. I almost couldn't stand it. I went downhill from that

point, developing sever stomach pain and eventually interstitial

cystitis. My teeth initially got better after that whole fever

episode. I have been on IM bicillin for 6 months and am feeling

better. I tried going off of it and after three weeks the pain in

my jaw and my teeth was almost as bad as when I had the fever 20

months ago. That wasn't the only thing that was hurting either! I

went back on the bicillin injections and the pain has gotten better,

but I feel like I am " covering up " the problem, not fixing it.

Are you still on antibiotics or have you stopped them? I cannot

tolerate oral antibiotics because of my stomach and esophogus, but

have been approved by insurance for IV antibiotics. I am not sure

what approach I am going to take.

Thanks for your input!

KK

My Lyme doctor prescribed Lyrica for nerve pain as well as Lorazepam for

tremors, both help quite a bit. When my neck does not turn and my muscles hurt

real bad I take 600 mg Morton and hot tub baths, both of which help a lot.

Dagmar

sick since 3-06

also post IV treatment etc.

another hint for stronger soap and save money, buy plain lye soap go to wal mart

buy tea tree oil for 6 bucks add to liquid soap while blending.

We have some great soaps available for you!

If you like the old fashioned Lye Soap, we have that also at a special price.

It is made with lard, lye and water and is very mild. It doesn't lather the

greatest but it is great for use on poison ivy or oak, and is great to use in

laundry for stains.

Only $1.50 per bar!!
